SOURCE: no connection ref hp officejet pro 8500 a909a

How are you connecting to the printer (over the network or a direct USB connection)? If you are using a USB connection, try a new cable or plugging into a different USB port. If you use a USB hub, try a direct connection.

If you are using a network connection, check if your firewall is blocking the connection. Also check that the router (or switch) didn't dropped the network connection and didn't re-synch with the printer (or worse changed the IP address of the printer).

I hope this helps.

The display screen on my hp officejet 8600 has no contrast

Some people have fixed that by unplugging everything from the wall and also the other cables overnight and then powering up again.

If that fails call HP warranty

My officejet pro 8600 is telling me to pick motor stalled. What does that mean? It will not print

I have spent many hours doing some trick to solve this , and it did not got me anywhe.
Finally last chance I powered down the printer and completely removed the second printer tray assembly from the bottom of the printer.
Powered back up running only the single main tray and that did the trick .

OfficeJet Pro 8600 will not pick up glossy photo paper from the tray

I tried everything that was suggested on the HP forum but then tried something not reccommended there and it worked. Not only remove tray 2 from the printer properties but force the print to tray 2, when you this it sets the Quality from normal or Best to Custom. Once I done that it worked... Just disabling the tray 2 is not enough.
