Touch screen is misaligned. When you select an item, it chooses the item to the left by 1-2 spaces. There doesn't appear to be an alignment utility like on my PDA, at least I haven't found one. TomTom recommends I throw it away and buy a new one but I can't afford it.

Hi,
this is a common problem in PDA's. the mis alignment is because of faulty circuitry or misfitted screen.
this can be rectified easily, there may not be a reset specifically for the screen , but when you flush the software platform or reset it or re-install it, this will be rectified. if the problem is because of any abuse (rough handling, impact, dropped on floor) it is better to change the PDA.

cheers

How do you move new items into the old, empty spaces on the menu screen?

Hi Alice,
This may take some time and trial and error, but you go into TOUCH SCREEN CONFIGURATION. Select the ITEMS & DEPARTMENTS button. On the left side, highlight the department you want to correct first. On the right side, all items for that department should be displayed.
At this point, DO NOT HIT the ALPHABETIZE button. This may be what caused holes to appear in your selection screen. This button is only useful to new unused menu setup. Highlight each item that should not be displayed, such as modifiers or discontinued items, and uncheck the box at bottom for displaying it.
Next, highlight an item that will display and click the UP or DOWN buttons to reposition it in the display. This is the time consuming part. You can also select a color for it if desired. This can make it easier to spot certain items.
When you are satisfied with that department, highlight another and repeat the process. To see your changes, you must exit SETUP, switch to a different department, then switch back to it. If you have a lot of gaps, several attempts will probably be required.

How do i align my printhead on canon iP1200

I assume you are using windows.
  1. Go to START, SETTINGS, PRINTERS, double click on the printer icon. Go to FILE, to PROPERTIES, then click on the printer SERVICES tab. Click on ALIGN the print cartridge button and follow instructions on the screen. hope this works
  2. Align the print cartridges Typically, you only align print cartridges after installing or replacing a cartridge. However, you may also need to align cartridges when:
    • Characters are improperly formed or are misaligned at the left margin.
    • Vertical, straight lines are wavy.
    From your printer:
    1. Load plain paper.
    2. Press the Menu button, and scroll to Align Cartridges.
    3. Press Select. An alignment page prints. Once this page prints, your automatic alignment is complete.
    From your computer:
    1. Load plain paper.
    2. Open the Canon Pixma IP 1200 Utility.
    3. From the Cartridges tab, click Align Cartridges... . The Cartridge Alignment dialog appears. alignprintcartridgesa.jpg alignmentpanther.jpg
    4. Click Continue to print the alignment page.
    5. On the Alignment Status dialog, click OK if automatic alignment is successful. If automatic alignment is not successful, clicking OK will return you to Utility Main Window.

My touch screen does not operate properly. When I attempt to press/touch a character another character appears. Example when touching 1, 4 apperars on the screen. How can I correct or reset the touch...

The touchscreen portion of your display is severely out of alignment. Try finding the utility(use hardware keys) to align the display (under settings). Try to align it. If it is too far out of range, it will kick out your "presses". If this happens, you *might* be able to try a reset, but it likely will not work. Otherwise, your only recourse will be replacement or repair.

How do I have printer switch from empty paper tray 1 to the full 550 paper tray 2

Hi. You need to do tray linking. When one linked tray is empty, paper feeds from the next linked tray. The size and type settings for all trays must be set from the Paper Menu. To set the paper type or size:
1. On the home screen, touch Menu button
2. Touch Paper Menu
3. Touch Paper Size/Type.
Note: To link the multipurpose feeder, Configure MP must be set to Cassette in order for MP Feeder Size or MP
Feeder Type to appear as a menu item.
4. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same size paper from all paper sources to be linked.
5. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same type paper from all paper sources to be linked.
Note: When the Size and Type settings are the same for any trays, the trays are automatically linked.
6. Touch Submit.
Submitting changes appears.
7. Touch Home to return to the home screen.
Hope this helps.
