Only 3rd generation iPod nanos can play video, and the video must be mp4, you can use itunes to sync video to ipod nano, just follow those steps:
1. Open iTunes and click "File" to add your videos to iTunes library.
2. plug in your iPod Nano to computer, then iTunes will detect your iPod Nano as a device.
3. Select your iPod Nano device on the left panel of iTunes, click "Movies" tab, check the videos you want to sync and click "Apply"

You can transfer your iTunes movie and music to iPod with cable. But you should notice that there may be DRM protection, which will prevent you from playing iTunes video on other devices. You may need some best iTunes video converter to help you.

First, you need to ensure ur video is in ipod-friendly format MPEG4(MP4), M4V... if not, you can use iTunes to convert them...

Next, use iTunes to sync them to ur iPod. If you wanna more convenient, you could download this iPod manager tool - Daniusoft iPod transfer :

1. Backup videos/songs from computer to iPod directly ;
2. Transfer iPod files to computer smoothly ;
3. Transfer iPod video/music to iTunes .

Does this thing play video if u put video on it

According to Apple, it does, and the newer ones can even record video with a built-in camera. At 4GB, of course, there's not much space to fill it up with movies, but the capability's still there.

I cant get a tv show on my ipod nano 4th gen

Not all iTunes video can be transferred to iPod, please make sure your video is compatible with iPod. If the video resolution or video bitrate beyond iPod limitation, even though they are mp4 video, you can't upload them to iPod. For example, some iTunes purchased movie are High definition movie, the resolution is too high to play on iPod, you can't sync it to your iPod. For more information about iPod compatible video, you can visit apple official website.

Ipod songs

Okay, well you may have an issue with your iPod settings.
First: Plug your iPod into the PC and pull up iTunes
Second: Go to devices and go to "(Whatever you put)'s" iPod.
Third: look at Options and look at the ones you have checked. UNCHECK=Sync only checked songs and videos. UNCHECK= Manually manage songs and videos (just for extra precautions) and UNCHECK= Enable disk use (just for extra precautions).
Fourth: Go to Music and look at what you have checked. If you haven't already,check="Sync music" and under that "All songs and playlists." Also check=Include music videos and Display album artwork on iPod.
Fifth: Click "Sync" and hopefully that will solve you problem.
