I JUST BOUGHT A jOHNSON 15HP 2 stroke Model # HJ15REDD Serial # G03726707 can I find out what year this motor is please

Model # shows it's a 1973 year, 50 horse power. 2 stroke engine with 50 to 1 fuel mix.

To get the year of Johnson and Evinrude outboards use the word "INTRODUCES". Each letter corresponds to "1234567890" respectfully. It's best to check with a model year reference book, but this motor's model number contains "CC" which would indicate it's a '88.

1978 It is in the model on an Evinrude. 6804.... 6 HP.....1978

check to see if you have a spark -then check if you are still getting fuel-and how old is the fuel-because it is recommended ,an im assuming its a 2 stroke motor,that the fuel should be replace with a fresh 2 stroke mixture every couple of months as the mixture jellyfies and sludges up the carb etc-try those first

I have a 1979 Johnson 15hp Long shaft, and as a single motor just followed the rule of a shortshaft motor for a short transom and a longshaft for a deep transom. You have a little adjustment in the mount clamp. You want enough shaft not to cavitate and want the trim fin below the hull. If this is a kicker motor you want it deep enough for water pickup but less deep for drag on fixed mount.
