SOURCE: Trying to connect my canon

Hi.

The WPS button wifi auto configuration does not always work, in fact it fails most of the time, depending to router and network configuration.

Before connecting the printer , ensure that configuration Mac, router and network is complete, and that the Mac is connected to the network.

Before connecting the printer ensure that you have the printer software, if you do not have the software, download if from Canon website.

Install the printer as suggested in the document below. You will need to follow the steps in software setup. At a point you need to connect the printer to Mac using an Ethernet cable. Then enter access point, remove cable and configure printer wirelessly.

Here configuration instructions.

Here config. for additional computer (if required).

SOURCE: Does the linksys-G support WPS or AOSS?

Good question, I have the same router & Brother HL-2280DW and ran the printer setup CD from Windows XP SP3 via temporary USB connection & it seemed to work. The WAN report on the printer itself says OK, however the computer can't seem to find the printer "No devices could be found on the network." I let setup make changes to Windows Firewall, not sure about Microsoft Security Essentials however. This seems like a nice printer/copier at a nice price but this setup is frustrating! PS If it's a security issue I'd like to say thanks to all the hackers for ruining technology for everyone, your junk is responsible for slowing down & complicating computers & technology in the world. Someone please do everyone a favor & start making antibodies that *kill* viruses & spyware & spam and clean & speed things up for a change! All these villians - Where are the cyber super heroes????

SOURCE: I can't turn wps off

This tutorial works on the assumption that your router has been flashed with the right version of DD-WRT. Before you can go on further with this tutorial, you must flash your router with the right version of DD-WRT. If you face any confusion, you can log in to the DD-WRT's website and check out the tutorial on how to flash a router with the appropriate version of DD-WRT. This tutorial has been very nicely written.

If your router has been flashed with the appropriate version of DD-WRT, then there is not much work to setup VPN Router. All you need to do is set up the configuration and you are good to go!

Can a WiFi repeater with WPS connect to a Wireless router without WPS ? I can't seem to get them to connect to each other via WiFi

WPS only works with client Wi-Fi devices that have a WPS button.
Your router does not have it, so it does not work.

Does the actiontec gt701 have a wps button

nope, doesn't look like it. It might support the use of WPS pin setup, but my guess is that you just need to go the traditional route of connecting your devices using the wep/wpa2 key

To adapt N300 Wireless Adapter, I need to press the WPS button on wireless router or gateway. Unable to locate WPS button.

The reason you may wish to press a WPS button is to connect to a WiFi network. The WPS button will be on the router, not on your computer. If no WPS button on the router you will need to enter the WEP/WPA password to connect to the router.

Wps button

The front of your Actiontec modem has a button and light for Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). If that button was pressed or the WPS process was started, that button may light up or blink.

Can't find WPS button on router?

Wrong question and the answer is a bit more complicated than I can just type here, First the WPS is a fancy feature that I will not Google to find out about, second if you have a wireless printer and you want to configure it for a network you must have a wireless router. so if you do not have this then you will need to connect your printer (using USB) directly to your computer.
