Make sure the battery is installed correctly.Try opening, then closing the cover to the memory card and battery compartment while holding pressure against it until you hear it click closed. Then try to power it up. The camera will not power up if the cover is not properly closed.
Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.
this is most likely a short in a computer component, You need to unplug everything from the computer incl CPU, Memory, Add on Cards, Hdds, the lot, just have motherboard plugged in and push power, if it powers up (there won't be a pic but you will know it's working) start replacing parts one by one until it won't start and that is the faulty part. If it does nothing with just motherboard plugged in the motherboard is at fault and needs to be replaced, If you have had the motherboard out make sure no of the metal mounts in the case are shorting out anywhere under the motherboard as this will also cause the same fault.
what device? is *********** board won't start? Or a hardware doesn't start like ram or your printer If the problem is your motherboard check all your hardwares and connectors like this:
If the motherboard won't start if you click the power button check the LED(the small light bulb on your motherboard) if its glowing. If not, check the connector of your power supply or check the power supply if its working by looking its fan if revolving.
If you push the button and there's a sign of power but didn't start up that will appear on your screen check the connection of your monitor screen to your desktop computer. If it's connected, remove your RAM from the motherboard and insert it to another memory slot to check if it's broken.
Last, if you push the power button and here 1 short beep but the boot screen didn't appeared from your screen check your graphic card. Remove the graphic card and re-insert it again to its graphic card slot and plug in your monitor connector to it. If it still remain that way, buy a new graphic card.
Try this unplug plug the power cord and remove the battery and hold the power button for 45 seconds,Then reinstall the battery and and try to start the computer,
if it fails to start unplug plug the power cord and remove the battery and hold the power button for 45 seconds and remove the memory and any usb devices that may be plugged in,then start it,
If it starts
Allow it to load completely and then shut it down and install one memory stick and restart, if all is well after if loads completely, shut down again and install the other memory stick and restart, if all is well again wait until it loads completely and then plug in and allow to load each of the usb devices you may have
Sounds like you just need a new power supply. I had the same thing happen when mine died on me. NewEgg.com has them at a good price if you want to wait for shipping. Not sure if Staples or places like that carry power supplies. Make sure it's the same voltage or lower as the one you have in there now.
IT CAN BE FIXED.. HANDS ON IS THE BEST WAY . LETS GIVE THIS A SHOT. COMPAQ NOT GOING TO HELP YOU THEY WANT YOU TO BUY ANEW ONE IF IT WORK WHEN IT HAD VISTA , IT WILL WORK NOW, I AM SURE OF THAT. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO HAVE IT COMPLETELY TAKEN APART AND RESET IT , BUT THATS ANOTER STORY , FOR now remove the battery and remove the ram/ memory card, then remove the hard drive , a sigle screw should remove the hardrive memory as well then i want you to hold down the power button for about 3 minutes , then insert harddrive only press power, if you hear a beep good sign if th power button remains after the harddrive is installed, hold power button till computer turns off then install ram memory USE YOUR POWER CORD THREW OUT THIS PROCESS [email protected] your computer can be fixed i know its easy said then done ITS MINOR but a tech will tell you the total opposite
