Not a good idea to update the software!
According to the User manual a UE22 code indicates a failed software update. (scroll to p. 75). If you haven't tried to update the firmware in the receiver then perhaps the wrong buttons have been operated on the remote control which placed the receiver in the update "mode".
Unfortunately this error code on a Pioneer receiver indicates that the firmware has been corrupted. The only fix for this is to replace the digital board. If out of warranty, it is probably not economical to repair.
Guys, all you need to do is download the "firmware" file from pioneer website and upload it to a usb, stick it in the USB port of your amp, then "update via USB" -voila. Good luck all! God Bless
The error comes up when the unit software is updated and the update has failed. The error UE in fact means Update Error. What you need to do is to repeat the update and let it install completely.
Please let me know how this goes.
I am assuming the light that is flashig is the "MCCAC" light on the front display. Supposing this is correct you have either a blown amplifier (one or mor channels) is the protection circuitry is not operating correctly. In either case the receiver has locked up to prevent any additional damage. There is a key sequience that needs to be preformed to unlock the unit so a technician can troubleshoot the problem. In most cases a blown amplifier should be in the $150.00 dollar range to get repaired. This is a fairly high end Pioneer receiver and is probably worth repairing, or at least finding out what the repair will cost.
