Cannon MP530 scanner won't scan document it shows error code

It usually concerns the scanner: "Code:5,156,61 Cannot scan for these reasons: -Scanner is turned off.-USB cable is disconnected" Solution 1: check USB connection Try another USB port on the PC If USB cable is connected to an USB Hub: connect diretly the cable to the PC. Try another USB cable
Solution 2: Sometimes, an antivirus or the firewall of Windows can block the use of Canon software. Check this point by disabling them temporarily.
Solution 3: Reinstall the drivers of the printer

if scanner is not in use there is a problem using it with the USB unplugged.

Try to remove driver installed, re-installed and choose complete installation and observe for possible error if none check for scanning freeview if work.

When using the ADF to scan multiple document the scanner assembly stay stationary and the paper is fed across it. Where the scanner parks for this there is something between the scanner and the document, likely on the glass. Often there is a small strip of glass on one end of the scanner bed. Clean here if there is one, otherwise look around and I'm sure you'll find it. Remember, never spray cleaning solutions directly onto the glass, always onto a cloth or towel first. The scanner has a calibration strip that can be damaged otherwise.

Open your Adobe Acrobat (e.g., 9.0 Pro), load your pages into the document feeder (fewer than 30 at a time), then ask Adobe Acrobat to create PDF from scanner (File/Create PDF/From Scanner). Canon MP530 as the scanner and click OK. Works like a charm!

Please try "Scanners and Cameras" which comes with Windows to see if you can scan images successfully from your scanner.

Hey, so if you already have everthing else working, drivers installed and so on. Lets try scanning a document, this should work if everything is installed fine.

press start
select run
(if your using windows vista just hold down the windows key and press r to open the run menu)
type in mspaint

now that you have paint started, click File and from scanner or camera



if a document gets scanned fine, (follow on screen instructions) then we can look at optional software to scan documents, if paint is not enought.
