Continuous drainage is not working.. it only worked once.. what is the main cause? i have already checked and rechecked the position of the ddrainage tube
Make sure that where the tubing attaches to the unit is tilted out or it will not drain into the tubing but into the pan instead. Hope this helps 2rns4u <*{{{>(

George, regular garden hose is what is generally used for continual drainage. Just don't exceed the maximum length of hose, that is listed in your Owners Manual.And, despite what they say about being able to pump water up thru abasement window, it really doesn't work that well. Unless the unit is right below the window,

Roren, once the hose is properly installed, it's not necessary to deactivate the bucket switch. Unless, the tubing inside the hose connection is clogged, the water should drain through the hose. However, the hose should not be longer than 5 feet and should drain down and away from the unit. As the drainage relies entirely on gravity.
If you have already tried this and was unsuccessful, the hose connection drain is clogged. You can use an 18" plastic Zip Tie, inserted carefully into the drain hole connection to loosen the clog and remove it. But, you'll have to gingerly work it past a bend in the tunbe, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then while pulling it back out twist the Zip Tie to dislodge the clog. As you reach the end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow. Also, check the hose for clogs before connecting to the unit.

I have a similar Whirlpool dehumidifier and a similar problem. Have you tried setting it to continuous mode? My understanding was that it would only divert the drainage to a side hose when in the continuous mode.
Take out the drain pan and look in left hand top of the compartment and you will see a drain hole for the pan.Plug the drain hole with a small rubber plug, I used an electrical wire nut wrapped with tape and it worked fine.replace the pan and the water will run out the back. A 3/4" garden hose should work for the drain hole.
Many just attach the hose at the reservoir; from your description, Haier apparently has a separate location. Check that the point that the hose attaches has an opening (many don't, they expect you to drill it). It should then drain through gravity. Check to make sure that no part of the drain hose is higher than the bottom of the reservoir, otherwise it can't drain. It won't siphon because each time the the tank empties, the suction is broken and the siphoning can't continue.
I had a similar problem with the pump not working and the water flowing into the main drainage bucket instead. I had to disassemble the housing...not an easy project to reassemble...and found that the pump has its own smaller drainage tank with a float device, a pump pre-filter, the actual pump, then of course, more drainage tubes. The entire pump drainage system of components needed cleaned of accumulated, mucoid, slime! I cleaned the channel in which water flows into the pump's tank...located on the screen filter side of the dehumidifier. Then I moved to the other side of the dehumidifier and cleaned-out the entire pump drainage tank. Note that the pump's drainage tank only empties about 1/2 inch of water each time the pump activates. Thus, there is always alot of water in the pump's drainage tank. Thus, alot of time for slime to accumulate. Next, I cleaned off the float mechanism. I then cleaned-out the pump's pre-filter. Cleaning out the pump's pre-filter was paramount to the pump functioning properly and quietly! I checked that my pump was properly installed and NOT rubbing against its mounting so that it operated quietly. I added fresh water to the pump's tank several times to insure that the pump was working properly and that all slime was eliminated. Finally, I reassembled the housing...not an easy task! My pump now functions like new. All this work had to be done to insure proper function of the dehumidifier's pump system. My dehumidifier is only 11 months old. It is still covered by the one year warranty, but it is too expensive to ship the entire unit, as Delonghi requires you to do at your expense for them to fix it under warranty. You can be assured that I will check for future slime build-up to keep my dehumidifier functioning properly. The dehumidifier works great, it's just that it's high maintenance.
I taped down the float in the container so that the unit would not shut off when the conainer filled up. The water now is going through the drainage bypass .
yes, that is what the knockout port was designed for. Make sure the hose you get does actually thread onto the hose connection port before you punch out knock out. The hose should be a standard garden hose connector.
