Hi, my Mitsubishi WD-73736 TV had spots on the screen. I called and they said it was the dlp chip. So, i bought that and replaced the DLP. When, I turned on the tv, the red status light occurred.

Red status was the lamp of the tv, so I replaced that. But the red light still remains. What else could be wrong? Also, the sound comes on, just not the screen.

There are some adjustments should be done after the DLP chip replacement. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Testimonial: "Hi, so I rechecked all my wiring and everything and Now, I put everything back in place, and started the tv. After the green light stopped blinking, I turned on the tv and now the screen is black (but it is lit) with one white horizontal line that looks kind of like a barcode. I can hear sound, but only have that one image on my screen. I tried to reset the system, but it didn't help. There aren't any status lights other than the regular green light on. What do you think it could be? Thanks for your help..."

Is there a recall on the mitsubishi dlp chip wd-65735 and are they replacing them free

Nope,,,White dots, white snow or sparkling stars on your DLP TV mean only one thing - a worn out DMD chip. The white dot syndrome seems to happen when the DLP TVshave been in use anywhere from two to five years - usually when the warranty has expired
Certain brands seem more vulnerable than others to the white dot syndrome. Samsung and Mitsubishi DLP TVs have been plagued with the problems for several years now. Sony and JVC choose to take the TVs set off the market in response to complaints from disgruntled owners.
If you read the various forums offering solutions, you'll see customers being given quotes of $600 and upwards for solving the white spot syndrome or replacing the DMD DLP chip. Fortunately, there are companies offering the offering the DLP chip for under $230 if you want to fix it.

Mitsubishi wd60735 white spots apperaing

Thats a very coomon problem which is caused by a failed DLP chip. The mirrors get stuck and thats what causes the white spots they will keep multiplying untill the entire screen is filled. You will need to replace the DLP chip. You can get the replacement DLP chip and illustrated instructions on how to do the repair from www.tvrepairworld.com

We just replaced the DLP chip in our mitsubishi 1080P tv because we had white spots all over the screen. Now after replacing the DLP chip we have no picture at all but we have sound. Help?

Likely you either forgot to reattach your color wheel ribbon connector, or have it on upside down. It's the tiny ribbon cable behind your circuit board that will come off as you pull the board away from the DLP chip.

White spots

Replace the DLP chip at cost between $160-$300 for the part and about two hours of your own time to do it.

Bright white spots on mitsubishi wd-73833 I just replaced the lamp and now these bright white spots have started to appear!

This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.
