SOURCE: What would cause the touch

It may be a glitch that can be corrected by a hard reset. Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

It may have gotten moisture, contamination, or grease inside, which can happen if one cooks on the stove top without having the microwave's hood vent fan on.

It may simply need repair.

We repair microwave control units and touch panels / touch screens for customers nationwide with our guaranteed $39.95 service.

The lights can can be inoperable or stuck on or stuck in "night light" mode. Sometimes this will similarly affect the fan operation or inside light, too.

Replacement bulbs still do not work

Most electronic control boards have undersized circuit wires that can't handle a catastrophic lamp failure. The circuit trace will open like a fuse. If you or someone knows how to use a soldering iron, this can be repaired.
1. Remove the top grille. (Two screws on top)
2. Remove screw above button panel. Push up on panel to remove.
3. Remove circuit board from panel. Look on reverse side for open circuit trace.
4. Repair circuit trace...lights work again....
