SOURCE: I have misplaced the cleaning
To clean you want to clean the inner chambers. Hold the fountain firmly from the top and carefully snap off the top portion. It is firm, but you can separate the top sections from the base. You will find the pump below, which you can rinse and clean. Then reassemble. I don't use any harsh soaps to clean mine, just warm water and sponge out. Hope this helps!

Self-cleaning litter boxes are increasing in popularity and
are available at most local pet supply stores in your area or online. Here are a few places for you to search and

I would recommend you check out the LitterMaid litter box. It has two sensors on either side of the box that detect when a cat uses it. After 10 minutes, a rake automatically comes and scoops clumps of solid and liquid waste into a disposable container at the end of the litter box. Keep in mind that this does not eliminate you cleaning the box.
SOURCE: If I buy a self-cleaning litter box does that mean that I am off the hook for cleaning?
Sorry to break the news to you but just because you bought a self-cleaning litter box does not mean that you do not need to clean it. While they keep themselves cleaner than other litter boxes, self-cleaning litter boxes still require an amount of sanitary maintenance. They necessitate regular washing and litter replacement. You should also keep an eye out for any waste that the self-cleaning system may have missed.
