The switch on the titanium has a flimsy week point and is always breaking. This is a stupid economy by Kenwood when there is now so much good competition. Mine broke after only 6 months and Kenwood were less than helpful suggesting I took back to where I bought it - 500 miles away!! I wish I had bought a Kitchen Aid

hi the lock nut on the shaft may have been loose allowing the shaft to screw into the dough hook you hve to unscrew the hook out of the shaft then unwind the nut down so you can release the shaft. other problems can occur if the retaining clip has unseated and jammed itself into the planet hub. this is more difficult and a kenwood agent would be consulted see www.kenwood.co.uk for nearest agent.

The three pronged wire contains a green wire which is connected to the metal housing of the mixer. It sounds like either that wire is broken, or disconnected inside the mixer, or the service into which you are plugging the mixer does not have a ground wire connected to a proper ground.

Remove the rear cover and look for a green wire and make sure it is connected to the metal of the frame.

If it is then check the outlet you are using to ensure it is wired correctly.

Hi. Congratulations for researching mixers. I wish I had before I bought my Kitchenaid HD Pro. All mixer manufacturers over-rate their products. Goto www.consumeraffairs.com and do a search for each mixer you are considering. Most mixer failures are caused by mixing heavy cookie or bread doughs. Although manufacturers claim that their mixers can easily handle these doughs...They cannot! My Kitchenaid self-destructed after 30 batches of bread dough. "For the way it's made"! Indeed! I solved my problem by buying a Hobart N50 mixer. It's a 5qt. and handles anything I throw into the bowl. I bought mine used, and refurbished it myself. New these units cost $2,035.00 USD.

I have an A901. The label on the machine says that it is 1/3 Hp (one third horse power).

PLease advise what is the model of the mixer. If it is a Chef or a Major, it appears that the blades have not been fixed properly. Please push in till you hear a click
