My MP610 will not power up. Its just dead. It has been working great, went away for 3 weeks all turned off but now will not power up. Have checked leads and power supply ok. Any sugestions.

Try removing the printhead and turning on, Canon printheads go bad and you can't power up. If it turns on, you need printhead, QY6-0075-000 around $45.00

I had the same problem, the operative being had!
All I did was change the paper orientation from landscape to portrait and the problem went away!

Possible solution. So, my sansa express went dead after pluggin it in to my computer after a few weeks of use. It was totally dead and unresponsive. Didn't turn on at all. Plugging it in wouldn't effect it and windows only recognized a malfunctioning usb adapter. Thus, reprogramming the firmware was out of the question.
Solution: the soft reset actually worked. You have to soft reset (hold down the grey center button and the volume up + key at the same time for a few seconds.) Then plug it into the computer. Voi La. It came back to life. The strange part was that it still wouldn't turn on after the soft reset. It required me plugging it into my computer to revive the thing.
