SOURCE: Paper Jam...grinding noise

The print head lock is probably not retracting. Look for the white plastic block that pokes through from the paper feed side just in front of the head. Push it in with your finger and move the head to the middle by hand. Now turn the machine on. Then turn it off using the correct method. Then turn it on once more. If it starts grinding again, you screwed the feed mechanism when tugged out the jammed paper (probably pulled it backward through the feed instead of making it go forward and out the correct exit). If this is the case, you may as well bin it. If it in warranty, you can try to get a claim for repair.

SOURCE: I have a epson artisan 800 I'm tring to fax from

I took apart my artison 800 with 'paper jam' error and grinding noise. Sadly enough, it is the plastic gear attached to the stepper motor which is slipping and making the grinding noise. I tried to glue it and it worked once or twice and failed again. It is a design flaw and Epson should repair this for free if they are honest about this problem. Ir is not a user-caused problem.

SOURCE: Epson Artisan 710 won't print black

Hi,

The nozzle may be blocked. So take out the colour cartridge and place its nozzle in a bit of water for about 10 mins. Bring it out and dab the nozzle with folded paper. If the tissue is blotted with the three colour it means you have unblocked the nozzle. Try now to print after returning the colour cartridge. You may need to repeat to get good results..

Thank you!!

Communications error between Windows 8.1 computer and Artisan 835 scanner

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your Epson printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Fix 'Carriage Jam' : Open Door, clear carriage jam,
and then press OK to continue' error message
Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

The next step it to test each sensor, both mechanically and electrically. Get really good light on the sensors, sometimes little hairs cause a false read. Verify that each sensor opens and closes electrically when actuated.

sorry bout the delay :(
the "grinding noise" only means that some parts/gears that is unfortunately inaccessible to users are either not lining-up or worst have loose teethes and ultimately causing the paper jams.
do you have any error from the LCD panel display? what number or code does it show?
refer to this guide:ftp://download.epson-europe.com/pub/download/289/epson28944eu.pdf#

if the issue is (obviously based on your description how the printer is performing) beyond what is shown in the guide above, go to the repair services section on this page:http://www.epson.co.uk/Printers-and-All-In-Ones/Laser/Epson-EPL-N2550/Drivers-Support#

that is one sturdy printer but sometimes paper jams initiates rollers and paper feeders mis-alignment that causes more paper jams and worsening the issue.

Hello, Your printer makes a "grinding sound". This is usually due to two things:
1. A dirty printhead rail. It is either ink residue or dry. Try gently cleaning it with some water.
2. Paper pick up roller(s) not picking up. Clean them with a damp terry cloth towel or a multi-purpose cleaner.
If you have unable to fix it please contact me at 1800-204-4427. I can help you out.
Good luck!!
