What are the timing marks for honda 5.5 gx160

Not sure why you would want to disconnect that warns you of impending catastrophic damage!

There should be an area on the stick with cross marks on it. Try to fill it to the upper part of that cross hatch section

copper ring on top, index markings facing up.

There are a few things i can think of that would cause that problem. #1 clean out the carb, some times when an engine sits for a little while the gas will gum up in the carb. #2 check the tuning on the carb, It is possible that the idle screw needs a bit of adjustment. #3 The gas could have gone bad. Again if it sits for a while and the gas cap doesn't seal properly your gas will go bad in a hurry.

The Honda GX160 is a single-cylinder multipurpose engine, so it doesn't have a timing belt, fuel filter, or any other wires other than the single spark plug wire and a ground. I'm having the same trouble with my Honda GX160. Spark is good, compression feels a bit lacking though, I haven't measured it. I've heard that the carburetor might be the cause, either needing to be cleaned or replaced as a whole. Dunking it in CLR works wonders, and if that doesn't work, you could probably find a new carburetor pretty cheaply.

How about the carb was it cleaned ???? It's definitely a fuel issue

Valves are set at 0.15 intake and 0.20 exhaust (metric)

I an not see a timing mark on the crankshaft gear to line up the cam gear any other method
