I know your problem. I just put in new cartridges and it will print the test page, but nothing else. Did you get an answer

Yes, most Lexmark cartridges as well as many other manufactures use something called 'Smart' Chips in the bottom of the ink cartridge. Usually unplugging your (about 10 seconds) printer resets the memory in the printer. Hope this helps!

This is the same old story with Lexmark printers, you cant do any thing about it the chips have a small fuse inside them and soon as they emty it blows the fuse, and thats it so I beleave the only way is to buy new ink, or a diferent printer.
Not know any fix for them myself sorry.

Can try.
Turn printer off. Unplug power cord and other cables. Wait 30 seconds. Plug cords and cables back in.

Also seen this on the net.
Use clear tape over left hand row of sensors on front of cartridge and re-insert. ink now shows with question mark but reads as full and prints fine.

but yeah, best bet, never ever buy lexmark.....:)

Lexmark x6675, saying missing color cartrige

Please follow the steps below to identify and fix cartridge issues:

Make sure the printer is on.
Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-In-One is busy. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power source and then carefully slide the carrier to the center.
Remove both cartridges from the carrier.
Close the printer cover.
Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in to, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.

Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Need to turn off ink notification

I regret to inform you that the "ink notification" cannot be disabled. The software is designed to remind you of your ink levels and avoid printing with empty cartridges. An empty cartridge has some serious disadvantages to the printer. It can lead to print quality issues.

Where is the ink cart. on a lexmark x6675?

The Lexmark X6675 User's Guide (available at http://bit.ly/bGobhq) should give you a better picture. Scroll to page 111 for the instructions on how to install/replace the cartridges.
Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't position automatically to the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip and gently slide the carrier to the middle of the printer. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source. How do I change the ink in the Lexmark x6675

Here's an article in the Lexmark website on How to Change the Cartridges on Lexmark Inkjet and All-In-One Printers. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/dowL0Q. The printer shown may not look exactly like your printer, however, the steps are the same. There are cases that the ink cartridge carrier won't position itself in the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. In this case, just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the solid white tape in the midde inside the printer. The other end of the tape is connected to the carrier. Gently slide the carrier to the center. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to the power source. Hope this helps.

Black inkcartridge doesn't show

Since your printer is new, is should be covered under guarantee. Please take it back to your dealer, he should swop it out. Alternatively you can arrange a replacement from Lexmark direct through their website.
