I have an ACER AL 1912 monitor that goes blank a few seconds. This problem happened a few months ago as well, but it went away after reconnecting the VGA cable. Then yesterday, it appeared again. The VGA cable is seperate from the monitor and replaceable. (Maybe the fix)
When I press the power button, the light turns green, then 1 second of blank screen, then 1 second of "ACER" displayed, then blank for 1 second. Then "No Signal" displayed for 1 second, then continuous blank screen, and green light turns orange. Pressing Menu does nothing at any point.
Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

Check your connections to the PC. Make sure that they are nice and secure. If there is a resolution problem setting it should display the boot process and then go blank after starting the operating system.
believe me u cannot fix this problem you can only make ti go away, when monitor goes blank, hit windows button on keyboard and programs will open, on the TASK BAR you will see blank page windows, double click it away, usually last all day, regard robert
Hello Karthik, This must surely be a problem with your monitor, because you say that you see the white screen while boot up. If this is a graphic driver issue, you may have the problem after booting up in windows. Since its been only a month old laptop, the product must be in warranty for sure. Take away any CDs in the drive, any USB drives and see if this white screen appears. Let us know.
Hi , The monitor flicker problem. The monitor when turn on will display image for couple of second then turn black. The monitor status led is still green. This will happen each time it is turn on. The symptom at appear to come from the inverter board.
i just finished repairing a 20 inch acer monitor that had the same issue.... you have to take it apart and examine the power supply side of the monitor. there are capacitors that go bad on that board. you can tell be feeling the tops of them... the feel rounded. replace the capacitors and put it back together and it will work fine
The power -inverter board probably needs an overhaul.
I redo many of these.
If the screen was pinkish or flickering before it finally got to this point, it is possible that a bulb has gone bad.
