SOURCE: Timex Expedition Compass watch stops randomly.

Some watches have crowns that screw in after being pushed home, is this the case with yours? If it is then that could cause the problem described. (Turn crown clockwise).

I looked at one or two of the Expedition instructions (the are a lot) but couldn't find any mention of a screw in crown.

I suggest that you go to Timex.com and at the bottom of the page is "manuals/downloads" select this and the "product manuals". Put your watch type in the search box to obtain your manual.

If you are still not able to solve the problem, the I suggest you take it back to a Timex dealer to sort it out.

Hi,
Your question brought a smile to my face as I had one also and had the same problem. It took me hours to finally figure out that the stem pulls out to set one thing and pulls out just a little more to set the next.
Hope this helps,

I have a two year old timex indigo which the green light feature no longer works. The stem no longer presses down. Any suggestions will be appretiated.

Hello Pat Trevino,

My best suggestion is to send (or take) your watch
to your NEAREST TIMEX authorized service center.
(see Returns below: Contacts: address & phones)

The FIRST watch I ever bought for myself is the TIMEX Automatic... Still keeps good time after 51+ years
(certainly better than I do)...

Since then I have gathered a few more watches,
chronometers & chronographs.

Takes a licking & keeps on ticking (John Cameron Swayze)

How can I change the day on the watch (timex model T2E581). I am able to change the date and time ok, but not the day. Thanks for the help.

When you pull the stem out all the way (two clicks) it should set the time. Pulling the stem out one click you noticed sets the date, you turn it one way for the date and in the same postion you turn it the other way for the day. For some reason on some watches the day will stick, if that still happens you will need to turn the hands around and around until you get to the right day, then keeping in mind the 12 hour interval you are in... set the date and time. If the day still does not change then you need to return the watch if its new or send it to timex! Caution: when sending a watch to Timex sometimes they send back a different watch without asking so if its sentimental do NOT send it to Timex!! Hope this helps! have a great day!

Hello, I just bought a Timex Acqua with Indiglo

Depending on when you bought your Timex, you shouldn"t need a battery just yet, your Timex came with a good battery. Look under the stem (winder) for a small piece of plastic that is not allowing the stem to go all the way down, remove that piece of plastic and push the stem down and your Timex will start. Or if your Timex has buttons, look for a tab of plastic on the back cover, this tab of plastic is keeping the battery from (ground) a complete circuit remove this tab of plastic to start your Timex. Changeing the battery while fairly easy, you"d need jewelers screwdrivers and of course the new battery, Best Bet, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for the battery change.

Manual for Timex Reef Gear H2Y023

I have a Timex Reef Gear watch...can't find a model number anywhere. (The watch back has the 3 digit code 940, one they don't list on the Timex site).

My watch has two stems to adjust the time, day, date, etc. On mine, you turn the top stem until what you want to adjust appears in the digital window, then you pull out the stem one click to adjust.

Broken stem (or came off)

You could send it to Timex yourself and they might fix it for free if it looks like it just unscrewed.
