Do you mean the old one was marked in Fahrenheit and the new one in Celcius degrees?

If so, 350 deg F is 175 deg C.

SOURCE: Tappan Oven overheats!!

If you have electronic controls, you'll need either the temperature probe (about $60.00) or the clock (about $150.00). You can test the temperature probe from behind the machine. It should read about 1080 ohms at room temperature. if the probe is good, replace the clock.

If you have mechanical oven controls, you need a new thermostat. Is the too high temp consistent? (i.e. runs at 375F +/- 25F?) If so, you can usually adjust the thermostat **** to read closer to the actual temperature.

SOURCE: Whirpool electric range - RF196LXMQ - Will not reach 350 degrees

When using Broil, it is normal for only the top element to work and it depends on the oven whether both should be on or not for baking but typically, baking does not use the upper element otherwise it could burn baked goods.
If setting the temperature higher than 350 does not cause the lower element to turn on, then it's likely that the thermostat has failed and can no longer respond to the temperature set.
The fact that both elements work under some conditions means that both of the heater elements are working at least some of the time. Because of the primitive nature of the elements, it isn't possible for them to just become 'weak' but they can interrupt themselves if there is a break in the resistance element but you could only separate the two possibilities by measuring the hot coil and that would be difficult unless you can pull the range out and access the AC feed lines that go to the element. Obviously, the power would have to be disconnected and the measurement done quickly so the element didn't have time to cool and regain continuity.

Kenmore electric range mod.750.9210,9220,9230,9240 Oven does not come on

Check fuses first. If OK, Unplug from wall, unscrew the bracket that attaches the lower bake element to the wall of the stove..(usually held to wall by a few small screws). Clip VOM test meter leads to the two terminals. Set meter to at least 250V AC. Make sure test leads and screws do not touch any metal anywhere. Best is to put a piece of plastic or cardboard under the test leads to isolate the leads from the bottom of the oven. Once connected and properly isolated, plug stove in, turn stove on to bake 350 degrees and look at the voltage reading. If 250V is there element is bad. If no voltage switch or wiring between switch and element is bad.

Kenmore Gas Stove, Model No. 790.72404013, oven signals it has preheated to 350 degrees in 7 minutes but it is nowhere near 350 degrees when it does this. Seems to take approximately 20 minutes to reach...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

ok it seems you have a offset issue, you need to purchase a oven temp gauge. See what the unit read's, lets say you set the oven for 350, does it read 320 or 380. 20 min for 350 is little on the long side, you may have a gas pressure issue.

I would get a 2nd opinion on this matter. and no, they are not all like that.

Does not hold oven temperature

I have the same problem. I had a repairman come out and they told me it was the control panel and thermo sensor. Replaced both and still didn't fix the problem! Can't return the parts and now into the stove for over $370! I wish I had put that money towards a new stove :-(

the least expensive fix would be to buy an oven thermometer and note what setting is needed to attain 350 degrees and go from there. please rate me
