I just got my Haier XQJ50-31 washer and don't understand how to put the detergent in. There is an opening in the center agitator for the liquid softener, and a small pull-out drawer at the inside top of the basket that says "Detergent Box For Predetermined Wash", but it has openings at the back of the drawer, so how does it hold soap?! At another place in the manual it refers to the agitator opening as the detergent/softener dispenser, so are you supposed to stop the machine mid-cycle after the detergent has been dispensed and then add liquid softener in the same opening--if so, the what is that detergent drawer about that I mentioned above? Please help?!
SOURCE: water is leaking out of detergent dispenser- big time
Water pressure may be too high, try turning the cold water feed pipe (usually the blue one)down a little, not too much though. If this does not solve it,is the machine lying level front to back? If not pack up the front of washer until level. If still no good take out dispenser drawer completely check for obstruction inside housing of machine. Also while drawer is out clean the underside or top of dispenser housing with an old toothbrush or similar tool,(you will see several pin holes where the water comes out when filling). To take out dispenser open drawer fully and there should be a clip at top back of drawer that you push while pulling drawer at the same time.Hope this is useful to you.

the detergent goes in the right, dry stuff (flakes) in the middle and any second stage product in the left

I ended up having to call Samsung support for this same question. Left to right two vertical bars = detergent (liquid or Powder) flower = softner, single vertical bar = bleach.

I had the same problem my fabric softener would not dispense.Close shut-off valves and take off the water hoses off the back of the washer and look for blockage on the screen.Mine was plugged up and after cleaning it off it works like new.
