She is not arguing with the camera. Sheesh. When she says she hits "continue" she is talking about continue for the camera to format the card. But instead of formating the card it says filesystem error e00100. The camera will NOT format the card. I have the same problem. I can format the card on the computer, but again the camera says it can not read the card and needs to format. You choose to format, and it says filesystem error e00100. My card is brand new. So I used cards I have owned for while and used in other cameras. Same thing happens. I tried 4 different cards. A 4gb SDHC, thought that format was not compatible so switched to a regular SD 2gb. Same thing happened. Also tried Standard SD 16mb & 128 mb. All do the same thing.

Difficulty formatting new memory card for a Kodak Easy Share DX7440

The DX7440 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. While your 4GB SDHC card fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work with this camera. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Iam using KODAK EASY SHARE C43.When I inserted a 2GB micro SD memory card for the first time,it is saying 'Memory Card requires formatting' as usual. While clicking OK, It shows 'formatting.....' and then...

The best thing would be to borrow a laptop or PC with a card slot, and format it there.
If it continues to show error when formatting, the card is defective and should be replaced. (Returned?)
Out of 5 memory devices I have bought in last 3 years, 2 came with a free virus. This from reputable stores. Be sure PC has antivirus installed.

It is not at all unusual these days to find NEW memory devices that don't work. Production methods are cheap as they can be. Just return it for refund or exchange.

Just purchased new Toshiba SDHC 8 GB memory card to use in Kodak Easy Share C743 digital camera. Put disk in camera prompt says "Memory Card requires formatting"...press continue, and go to formatting and...

No. Can you get into the camera menu when you turn the camera on? If so, go to "format" by way of the menu rather than clicking on continue. Also, be sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the unlocked position.

Cant get my camera to format a memory card

agreeing with fixer1950. This model is in fact just designed for up to 2GB SD or MMC card.

When Easyshare one was released, 4gb SDHC was not yet created. You will always get the "memory card requires formatting" (looping until you get a file sys error msg) if you will keep on trying to use the 4gb.

Most Kodak cameras only allow you to use up to 2gig memory cards. When I was on holiday I bought a 4gig for myself and I was told after that it would not work on it. I tried formating it everything but nothing works.

New memory card will not format

You are probably using a 4 gigabyte memory card and your camera will only support a 2 gigabyte card. Get the right card and it will format properly.

Kodak memory card error

Hey hardygurl198,
What is most likely going on is you need to format the card so it will work in your camera. Every time you get a new memory card for a digital camera or if you put a memory card formatted to a different camera in a new digital camera you will need to format the memory card before you can use it. Directions on how to format your memory card are on page 27 of your camera manual, and I have provided a link to a PDF download of your manual in case you need it. I hope this helps!
