Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

SOURCE: Sanyo DP42746 - Screen went black and no sound. Power light on.

The TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Image frozen on glitchy snow on RCA RLED4243A-UHD. What is the problem?

In general the TV is not receiving any input. The fact that you lost HDMI and VGA earlier suggests that there is a breakdown in the input circuits.
Best guess, replace the main board. Symptom doesn't seem to indicate Power supply or TCon board

I have an RCA projection TV, model D52W19B. The TV powers on ok, stays on, and audio is normal. I don't get a picture. If I press the menu button, the menu will appear on the screen normally.

my guess is you either have a satellite or cable box try unplugging the system cable or satellite and set for 5 minutes and then plug them back and and restart the unit up and see if it comes back the gemstar module would some times lock up causing this problem . and please let me know if that get's you working or if there is more trouble shooting to be done

Panasonic plasma TH-42PA60A screen is black and won't display the menu or picture. It still has sound though. The batteries in the remote have been checked.

It will need to be checked and boards replaced to know which if any are causing this trouble--I presume it happens on all inputs including the rear ones.
