Found something about IDE/ATA configuration. it's saying that if it's in enhanced - S-ATA mode it put the S-ATA and P-ATA in native mode. Should it be in native mode or is that the problem? Like i said i've messed with these options before and it didn't do much

also pls cool south bridge with install fan if it getting hot.

SOURCE: SATA II HDD instaling on ASUS P5LD2

Drivers will not affect whether the drive shows up in BIOS or not.
Your BIOS should have a setting under the 'Advanced' section for IDE and or SATA. Usually this needs to be set to 'Enhanced' mode or 'SATA plus PATA'  Check your jumper settings-The drive should be set to 'Master' (if it even has jumpers).Check the power lead to make sure the drive spins up. Try different power lead and different SATA cable. If possible, try the drive in another machine to make sure it isn't 'Bad out of the Box'
If the drive does not show up in BIOS its a hardware issue or BIOS setting .
Once it shows up in BIOS - you'll be good to go.

SOURCE: ASUS P5LD2 Raid 5 locks windows at MUP.SYS

A stab in the dark. Sound like the MB BIOS expects and is written to have the OS on the  IDE  slot. After that I would add one SATA drive at a time to see if it matters and to see if one of the drives are causing the problem.

VIA K8M800 is an AMD platform motherboard and should pick up the sata drive. Connect the drive to the motheboard, make sure that both leads are connected, go into the bios and set the bios to default settings, hit F10, save and exit, the machine will restart, go back into the bios and check to make sure its been picked up by the system.

SOURCE: SATA PORT NOT WORKING

The universally accepted HDD is the IDE, why are you trying to make it with a SATA? With a IDE you will avoid all the troubles. Yes! SATArequires a change in the BIOS. We can help you do the change, if you know how to do it. Playing with BIOS can cause the entire MB to burn out and destroy itself.

I want to install xp sp2 on Sata HDD The motherboard is P5RD1-VM but there is error set up did not find any hard drive plz tell me settings of bios to sata compataibale

It's likely a problem with your connection cable from the HDD to the motherboard. The bios shouldn't have to be set up for the HDD to be recognized through a sata port.

Did the problem start after you updated to bios 0229? You might try reinstalling bios 0229 or going back to 0228. Make sure that you SATA is enabled and your drive is hookedup to SATA1

Asus P5KPL SE & Sata, Bios "Not Detected Problem"..

The Asus bios won't show SATA devices.
However if you are using Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (or newer operating system then the devices should be detected. If this is not happening then enter the bios -- Storage Configuration -- Configuration Enhanced and set the IDE devices to compatible. This allows all drives to be "seen" and you should then be able to load an OS.

IDE Ports not working on ASUS P5LD2-VM Mobo

Good Day sir, hi, Have you tried to enable the IDE on BIOS setup. If the Bios setup did not solve the IDE problem, check the IDE port of the HARD drive, check if there are bent pins.
If still wont work, you can buy a PCI to IDE/SATA card, this is an expansion card in PCI format with IDE and SATA port.We use this card incase the IDE or SATA on the motherboard gets bad. Connect it on the available PCI slot. Then connect the IDE cable of the Hard disk to this card. Thats it.

2 Sata Hdd not supported

Hi rafiqbrush, let me go over a few things for the P5B MB.
There is a total of 5 serial ATA SATA drive ports on the board & one ATA IDE/PATA port.
The 4 main SATA ports are numbered, 1 - 4. Your primary SATA drive must be connected to SATA port 1. Your second SATA drive must be connected to SATA port 3. See page 2-26 in your manual.
All SATA drives are seen as master drives. Once the two SATA drives are connected (As per manual), boot to the bios main menu.
At the main bios menu make sure your bios shows both SATA drives. Than go to the bios title "Boot". Make sure your primary SATA drive 1 is listed in the boot order. Save & exit the bios. (SATA drive 1 must have windows installed on it).

No but you need to ensure that the drivers for your SATA controller are installed correctly (as they probably are not installed) http://uk.asus.com/products1.aspx?l1=3
