Noise levels can be lower if you have an open component in the high voltage circuit (magnetron, capacitor, rectifier), or have a failure of the relay that powers that circuit. Also, there are some ovens which will seem to run normally, but fail to heat, due to a bad door switch.

My microwave doesnt work

If you hear an unusual buzzing noise, the magnetron (the component that actually generates the microwaves) or other electronic module may be broken. This is not easily fixed; contact a service technician.

Thanks,

micro

Ge over range microwave runs but doesnt heat

If it does not heat and makes a loud buzzing sound, it usually means that the magnetron has failed. It the part that generatest the microwaves that heat the food. Replacement costs for magnetrons is almost as much as a new oven, so it rarely makes sense to fix. Sorry.

When the door is closed it makes a buzzing noise, the micro still works and the noise goes away when turned on and used

> the noise goes away when turned on and used
Is it possible that the other noise produced when using the oven are only covering up the buzz?
I think your microwave has two power supplies; one that supplies the low voltages for the display and control, the other for the magnetron. The first supply may be a standard line frequency unit using an iron-core transformer and if these are cheaply made, the laminations can vibrate and cause a 'buzz.' Better transformers are 'potted' so that the laminations are glued together with epoxy and can't vibrate. On later units, the magnetron voltage is produced by a 'switched mode' power supply that uses solid ferrite instead of iron and never vibrate.
If it was my unit, I would take it far enough apart to run a couple of beads of epoxy glue across the laminated transformer to kill the resonance.

Buzzing (a little bit louder than normal humm), but no popping

WHEN THERE IS A BUZZING NOISE IT MEANS THAT ONE OF THE INTERNAL COMPONENT HAS FAILED .RANGING FROM A SMALL DIODE TO LARGE PARTS LIKE
THE MAGNETRON OR TRANSFORMER OR CAPACITOR. IF IT IS 10 YRS,OLD YOUR BETTER
OFF GETTING A NEW ONE .BECAUSE YOU COULD INVEST MONEY IN THIS ONE AND HAVE SOMETHING ELSE GO TWO DAYS FOR NOW.WITH A NEW ONE YOU ALSO END UP WITH THE NEW WARRANTY. HOPE I HELPED. KEN62 GOOD DAY!

Microwave buzz with door closed and off This is a GE JVM1443WR Spacesaver... Microwave works, all buttons work, interior light works, and it will heat food... However, even when the microwave is off and...

You can check the relay and related driving circuit. If there is a short in the relay driving circuit there is chance for this type of problem. or the micro processor may be defective.

Boiling waer under micro wave lots of steam into micro wave, turn on micro wave ,pop noise like glass miro wave comes on louder hum than normal no heat

Q - The microwave display counts down and the inside light is on,  but nothing is heating and the fan is not running.
A - This most commonly is a bad door switch, other possible problems are a faulty relay or solder joint on the power module, but a bad door switch is most common.
Q - My microwave is running and sounds like it is working but will not heat up anything.
A - Many thing can do this but, common things are....loose high voltage wire.....poor solder joint on board.....magnetron.....power relay.....
Q - The microwave makes a loud "hum or buzz" noise but will not heat up the food?
A - 9 times out of 10 this is usually this is a bad magnetron, the other time is sometimes a bad high voltage diode. See components section.

Buzzing Microwave

the buzzing is the magnatron tube juicing too thousands of volts before emmitting the micro-wave radiation to what your cooking that turns molecules 180 degrees around... guess that friction is what really heats it.
radar ovens is what they use to call em and even people would stand in front of big ones to warm up long ago...lol canibles will love that.

Microwave Buzzing, Still Heats, but Turntable And Fan Not Working

This is not safe. If the fan is not running, the magnetron will quickly overheat and be destroyed. We answered this in more depth in the other place you asked it.
