Try to remove the latch on the foot. It sounds like the foot is nailed down with thread. You should be able to move the foot control up and down. You can remove the front of the machine and peak in at the foot lever to see if you see if there are any globs of thread.

SOURCE: buttonhole lever

If you remove the cover on the upper left portion of the machine, while looking from the left to the right.....Above the BH lever area, you will see a round cam with a post through the middle. Rotate the round can ( with fingers on it), and try again. This will change the angle position on the lever, and hopefully correct your problem. You may have to go a couple of clicks in either direction.

SOURCE: beeps several times and stops sewing.

I had the same problem. Through trial and error, I found the problem was with the thread tension. Usually the thread became wrapped around the spool holder as it was coming off the spool. As you continue to press the pedal, tension is created. When you release the pedal, some slack develops in the threading process and you are able to sew a few more stitches before the beeping starts again. If the thread is caught on the spool holder, simple re-thread the machine. That generally works for me. Also you can try to push to spool holder in as close as possible to the spool pin to alleviate any gaps. If the beeping continues to happen, place you thread in a cup behind the machine and thread as usual. You can also purchase an inexpensive thread holder. I made one out of a wood block and other odds and ends found around the house. Good Luck!

SOURCE: presser foot lever does not lift presser foot

If you can remove the cover on the left side you will see the presser foot bar. On the bar there will be a screw that may be loose. Turn the handwheel until the needle is all the way down and lift the foot manually until just before it makes contact with the needle clamp and tighten the screw on the presser foot bar.
That should do it.

Have an issue with the pressure bar on my singer curvy. the bar itself is loose and is turning the foot left to right. The pressure lever works fine and the bar doesn't grab when lifted ?

If the pressure bar on your Singer Curvy sewing machine is loose and turning from left to right, it could indicate a problem with the pressure bar mechanism. If the pressure lever is working fine, but the bar is not grabbing when lifted, it could be due to a problem with the tension on the bar or with the mechanism that holds the bar in place.
In this situation, it is recommended to take your sewing machine to a certified Singer repair technician

How can i re attach the pressure foot to the lifting lever

If the lever is disconnected, you will have to re-connect it. If it is an older mechanical machine, there may be a adjustment on the top of the machine (tightens the spring) on the needlebar that will loosen the presser foot pressure. Once it is loosened, you may be able to remove the spring and lift the needlebar, but you will most likely have to disassemble some things to get it reconnected. Just keep track of what & where you disconnect things.

Pressure foot won't stay up

The presser foot lift lever on many newer janome sewing machines will wear out with use. It can easily be replaced by a sewing machine repair shop or Janome dealer. Or you can look online for a "presser foot lifter" or "presser foot lift lever" making sure to find the correct one for your machine.

My presser foot lever is not working on my toyota rs2000 sewing machine

How do you mean 'not working'? Is it not lifting the presser foot? Not putting it down? Fabric not feeding? There are several possible problems depending upon exactly how it is (mis) behaving.

I have a pfaff hobbylock 796.

Has any little kids been around lately? Have they had access to your sewing area and machine? (thinking perhaps the pressure foot tension has been tightened down) If it has been tightened, losen it a couple turns, see if that helps (remember, left to loosen, right to tighten)

When is the last time you oiled this machine? Typically sergers require a clean and oil each time you go to use them. Locate the bar that correlates to the presser foot add a drop of oil to the bar and let it seep in. After a few minutes try lifting the presser foot.

Also does the presser foot lever move at all?

How do I change the presser foot on an elna mini sewing machine?

I dodn't know your model really well but it will be one of the following:
a clip on foot that you just pull down on to remove,
a clip on foot with a button at the back of the pressure foot holder - press the button to release the foot
a clip on foot with a little lever at the back of the pressure foot holder - lift the lever to release the foot
If it is a clip on foot, then you just need to raise the pressure foot lever, put your fingers onto the pressure foot and press downwards, it should unclip.

To put one on, place the pressure foot onto the needle plate under the pressure foot bar and lower the pressure foot bar down onto the foot, lining up the base of the foot holder with the little bar on the foot, it should click into place.

When I raise the lever the presser foot only lifts a bit at the end of the motion and doesn't stay up. Is the foot supposed to remain up after the lever is raised? In the first 40 degrees of motion...

yes, pressure foot lever should stay raised, this sounds like the spring has broken in your machine. if you are comfortable with delving into the machine you could open it up and take a look. alternatively take it to a sewing repair man and get it serviced as well as clean and lube.

The foot lever has gotten jamed and now i cant lift it or lower it. can the tension spring be the problem?

The tension has nothing to do with the foot lever.

However, the foot lever has an effect on the tension controller.

When the foot lever is up, the tension is open.

When the foot lever is down, the tension is closed.

If the lever will not release when you lift it as high as possible, you will need to take the machine in for service.
