This sounds like a protection system cutting in. This happens if there is a major fault and continual use would lead to a fire risk.

SOURCE: JVC HD-52G786 shuts off

Do you have your TV plugged directly into the wall? You cannot plug into a power strip, it needs its own direct power source. Also, I have heard that there can be electrical problems inside. I have this same model, I love it, picture and sound. I just replaced the bulb for the first time last night. It was a little premature to replace it now but I know what caused it. I bought a new bulb and it works like a gem. If you ever need to change the bulb do it yourself. It takes maybe 2 minutes. The bulb looks like the Flux Copassitor and all you do is remove the door in the back on the side. Unscrew the the 2 screws that hold the bulb in and just pull out. When you put the new one in make sure you do NOT touch the glass on the new lamp. Just slid it in and screw the 2 screws back in and make sure the door is closed and tight. My uncle had a service guy do his and he got raked for 5-$600, The bulb costs about $200. Should last about 5-6 years at a rate of 5-6 hours of TV on time. Hope this helped. If not, sorry, but at least you know how to change the bulb. Good Luck!!!

SOURCE: JVC TV lamp indicator light blinking new lamp

if you purcased a LTI lamp then the possibilty of a bad lamp may be the case. LTI lamps are cheap and are poorly manufactured. if it is a JVC lamp then you may have further problems such as lamp balast, or thermal sensor. clean the fans and filtersfor better air flow. keeping the lanp cool is important for the life of the lamp.

How do I rest my Jvc LT-55N776 without a remote

You can still reset your TV using alternative methods. Let's explore a few options:

Soft Reset:
A soft reset won't erase your TV's applications or settings. It's a simple way to restore the TV to its default state.
Here's how to perform a soft reset:
Unplug your JVC TV from the power source.
Leave it unplugged for 30 seconds.
Re-insert the TV's power cord into the power outlet.
Turn on your TV and check if it's functioning normally.

Hard Reset:
If the soft reset doesn't solve the issue, a hard reset might be necessary. Keep in mind that this will erase your TV's previous applications and settings.
Follow these steps for a hard reset:
Unplug your JVC TV's power cord from the electrical outlet.
Wait for 60 seconds.
Plug the cord back into the power source and re-plug your TV.
Locate the control panel on your JVC TV (usually on the side or back).
Press and hold the Volume Down and Menu buttons on the control panel for 10 seconds.
While still holding those buttons, press the TV's power button and continue holding it.
Release all buttons.
Turn on your TV and check if the issue persists.

Mobile App Reset:
Download the Google TV app on your Android or iOS device.
Use the app to reset your JVC TV to factory defaults.
Wireless Keyboard Reset:
Connect a wireless keyboard to your JVC TV.
Use the keyboard's touchpad control to navigate and perform a reset.

Contact Customer Care:
Reach out to JVC Customer Care and follow their instructions for resetting the TV.
Remember, these methods should help you get your TV back to its default settings even without a remote. If all else fails, consider getting a new remote control to make future adjustments easier.

Why does my tv turn off automaticly

Some tvs have a sleep timer on it and if it is accidently programmed the tv will turn off at a certain time. You may want to look at the users manual for more info. Or call a local place that fixs tv's for some more input before paying someone or getting a new tv. I had a tv once and it did the same think. I had to get into the menu with the remote and figure it out it had something to do with a set sleep timer so the tv would shut off at a certain time if the timer was set. It sucks if you dont have a remote though hopefully you do. Good luck. M Some tvs have a sleep timer on it and if it is accidently programmed the tv will turn off at a certain time. How do I set the sleep timer? We got the tv from a friend and it had no manuel.

Programming the Sleep Timer:

  1. Press and release the TV key.
  2. Press and hold the SLEEP key for three seconds. The illuminated component name turns on.
  3. Release the SLEEP key.
  4. Using the number keys, enter the desired time in minutes (from 1-99 minutes). To set the timer to an umber under 10 minutes, first press 0 and then the desired number (e.g.,05 for five minutes). The illuminated component name blinks with each key press.
  5. Once the second number is entered, the illuminated component name turns off.
Tip Any key press other than the number keys is ignored. If you don't enter the sleep time within 10 seconds after pressing the SLEEP key, you must start over at step 1. The illuminated component name blinks four times and then turns off, indicating your attempt to program the Sleep Timer has been unsuccessful.
  6. The Sleep Timer is now set.
  7. Leave remote aimed at the TV. Once the Sleep Timer is set, you can continue to use the remote without affecting the Sleep Timer. However, because the timing mechanism for the Sleep Timer is built into the remote itself, the remote must be in TV Mode and pointed at the TV to activate the Sleep Timer.
Note: If the ON·OFF key is pressed, the Sleep Timer is canceled.

Digital input not working and greyed out on the menu.

Most JVC TV's with HDMI and Digital Input have an optical sensor inside the case to sense if someone is trying to bypass the hardware encryption. My JVC was exposed to sunlight prolonged sunlight and triggered this optical sensor which disabled my HDMI ports. This may be the same situation for you.

JVC HDMI Port Fix

Turn the TV on, and enter the Service Menu. Select 2 for Self Check. Then turn the TV off, and after the fan turns off, unplug the power cord. Reconnect the power cord, turn the TV on, and the HDMI port is re-enabled.

Here's how to get to Service Menu:

Before entering the SERVICE MENU, confirm that the setting
of TV/CATV SW of the REMOTE CONTROL UNIT is at the
"TV" side and the setting of VCR/DVD SW of the REMOTE
CONTROL UNIT is at the "VCR" side. If the switches have not
been properly set, you cannot enter the SERVICE MENU.
1) Press [SLEEP TIMER] key and while the indication of
SLEEP TIMER 0 MIN is being displayed, press
[DISPLAY] key and [VIDEO STATUS] key (Fig.2)
simultaneously.
2) The SERVICE MENU screen of Fig.1 is displayed.
3) Verify what to set in the SERVICE MENU, and set
whatever is necessary (Fig.1).
Refer to the SERVICE ADJUSTMENT for setting.
4) Press the [BACK] key to return the SERVICE MENU.

Using the menu/options button, check whether there is a sleep timer. You may have accidentally set it, and it will shut off the tv at either a particular time, or after a period of time has elapsed.

TV will not come on with remote or power button

The following instructions are for the Emerson EWC1303/1903 tv/vcr. That's the closest match I could find to the Spongebob Squarepants 13' TV
If it's actually in Sleep mode, do the following:

TO CANCEL THE SLEEP TIMER
Press the WAKE UP/SLEEP button on the remote
control until “SLEEP TIMER” appears.
To view the time left for sleep timer press the WAKE
UP/SLEEP button twice, then press the MENU button
on the remote control to exit the sleep timer setting

If unsuccessful, try unplugging the TV for 1/2 hour, then plug it in and try turning it back on either manually or with the remote. Either of these should solve your problem. Best of luck to you!
