THE BEST SOUND IS WHAT SOUNDS BEST TO YOU, HOWEVER DO THIS:
1, USING THE SETUP MIC CONFIGURE YOUR DENON, PAGE 8 OF THE MANUAL. NEXT
2. RAISE THE REAR SPKR LEVELS, PAGE 46,47. NEXT
3. WHEN LISTENING TO AUDIO CD OR RADIO TRY THE 5 CH STEREO DSP MODE.
4. WHEN WATCHING A DVD USE DSP DOLBY PROLOGIC OR TRY 5CH STEREO IF THE MOVIE IS MOSTLY TALKING.
5, TRY 5CH STEREO WHEN WATCHING PROGRAMS WITH MOSTLY TALKING
So you have no sound on any Inputs? This makes a difference, if it works on some inputs but not others. For a factory reset - turn the unit off by the ON/OFF button (not the standby button) hold in the SPEAkER A & B buttons at the smae time, while pressing them turn the system on by the ON/OFF button, wait about 3 seconds and the unit should reset everything.
Does it still power up for a little bit or so with no sound what so ever?....I there is no dents in it or metal pushed in causing cracked connector boards....I can take it off you hands for a couple parts I need ...because your transformer and 2 resisters are shot and it will cost almost as much as the unit cost's.
I do have a brand new never opend $649.99 Denon AVR-788 for $365.00.
And 2 used AVR units Denon and Onkyo.....ALL HDMI
There should be a volume adjust on the center channel. This is done by the remote exclusively. You may also wish to compress the sound using the dynamic range compression button or so labeled.
If the surround back is turned on,on the receiver, then the 7CH stereo will activate
the 2 rear, but if it's off on the receiver
the 5CH on the remote will do the same.
I don't know much about the unit changing from 7CH to game, rock Arena etc.that i know will happen if u press the DSP simulation found
@ the 3rd. top right button on the remote.
