My kitchen Aid microwave stopped working. The model no. is KEMS378SS05, S/N D13365013, it is a microwave/oven combo. It is 6 year old unit.
The electronic display still works. But the light of the microwave is gone. Also the motor is gone. There is no light after door opens. There is no sound, no light, no rotation after start button pressed.

I went to the following website but it is not looking good for parts for your microwave. I am guessing from the number of things that are not available anymore, and the very high prices on things that are still available that this must be an old microwave. They might be able to point you in another direction if they do not have your part. KitchenAid Oven Microwave Combo Model KCMS125YSB0 Parts
I have a similar Kitchen Aid model. The little light inside my unit also went out. I called Kitchen Aid and they scheduled a tech to come out to change it. He said the only way to get to it is to pull the unit out from the wall (it's a built in unit). $150.00 bucks later I had a light for about another year before it burned out too. Needless to say, the heck with it, I don't need the light that bad.
It sounds like a failing magnetron. Sometimes they can be intermittent before they finally fail for good.
Chances are your oven has a 5-10 year warranty on the magnetron.

A loud buzz, hum, or groan is usually a shorted high voltage rectifier diode,
but a sound like gurgling into an empty
coffee mug is one symptom of a failed magnetron, and yet the mag can be bad
without that sound.
have a good look at front to see reset??.press it once it comes back on unplug from the wall and & open it up and go to the part and give it a good clean with wd40, check the push pad for ware & tare dirt gathers and builds up
If everything on the microwave works, except the turntable, this could be a simple turntable drive motor failure. It does happen from time to time. This motor gets a workout as it runs each and every time you use the oven. I just want to reassure you that these DO wear out and should not be an indication of the quality of the oven. I've had to replace them before. The motor costs about $34 at searspartsdirect.com. That is...if your model number is correct. You will need to go to the web site and type in your COMPLETE model number. There are several Kitchen-Aid models listed with the number you provided. I managed to scroll through several of the part listings and they all seem to be consistent with identfying the motor you need as item #11 under the "Oven Cavity" heading. The part number is W10159107. This is a fairly simple repair job. You shouldn't have to uninstall the oven if it is cabinet mounted. All have to do is unplug the power source and remove the panel covering the underside of the microwave. The plastic spindle just pulls off the motor shaft. Let me know if you need further assistance. I hope this helps you.
