My quadra fire pellet stove is making a vibrating/rattling noise. Fades in and out and stops when the hopper door or the front latch is open. We had it cleaned recently.

None of those seemed to address the rattling you described. Our Sante Fe started doing that after sitting all summer. It operates fine, but when the auger is not feeding it makes a rattling noise that appears to come from the auger motor area. When the auger is feeding or you lift the fill lid it stops vibrating. Still trying to figure this out.

It may be working properly. If it seems that it's a little cool in the room and the blower is cycling like you say then the stove may be getting chilled. If this is the case then the low-temp switch is cutting the blower off.

If the room is quite hot there may be a problem with the blower. Check to see if it has a bunch of dust in it making it run hot and tripping the internal thermostat.

Hi,
Check for power to the auger motor... power but no run equals bad motor and/or jammed auger... no power means bad board or high limit cutout needs reset...

You will need to do some checking and try ti figure out what is going on....
From the mention of the squeaking I would say that maybe a bearing went out on the auger and siezed up which may have also burnt out the motor...

SOURCE: quadra fire pellet stove will

min firepot - do a neg 3 to neg 5 flame/height try running on auto
try mixing with a small amt of wheat - set to utility setting (regardless of premium brands)
pull thermocouple off and put back on - might need a new one but the upgraded firepot that comes with a new element might be all that's needed as an upgrade
Reasons to upgrade: The upgrade to the bottom of the pot to the element is much bigger. There is also a large opening at the bottom of the element mount to aide in air flow upward to the pellets
Upgrading the firepot that comes with a new element - be careful of the TC Sensor cable - use plenty PB Blaster (wd-40? White lightning?) - slowly rock bolts back and forth - don't break the bolts!
Remove old cover around TC sensor and replace with a new TC Sensor ceramic cover from Preston Trading Post - might help
If the thermocouple is heated and produces millivolts, it's good. If it has continuity it is good. - make sure conections are pushed inside well enough on the pins.
You can test the board. Unplug stove. Then pull the firepot T-couple connector off the board, making sure which direction it sat. Then install a jumper wire on the exposed pins. Make sure it is clips with plastic covers that won't ground out. After installing the jumper wire, plug the stove in and check the wall control. If the error code for the firepot t-couple goes away, the control board is good. If the code pops up again, the board is bad.
jump the thermocouple connector pins on the control board, plug the stove back in -should be no error codes - tweaking the pins on the control board for a better connection - sometimes works

Just bought a house with a Gibraltar SCR stove in it. I want to use this thing, but have never owned a stove and don't know how. What fuel? How to set the fuel in the stove, etc. Can you help?

Gibraltar makes coal, pellet and wood stoves. Stoves that burn wood pellets have a hopper and feeder auger that feeds pellets into the burning chamber. They also require electricity to work. From what I read online you should be able to burn wood in the stove but I believe the coal stoves have a smaller burning chamber.

Why does my quadra fire 1000 not lite..i checked blower moter ignighter could it be thermocouple?

Wood burning or pellet stoves create acid vapor. The vapor damages thermocouples faster than a gas stove.

I have samsung french door refrigerator 2 door 2 drawer with vibrating a noise. I have removed the back panel and the noise does not seem to be cominng from this area. any suggestions.

We have a different model Samsung, and I've heard a vibrating or buzzing noise twice. First, if the water filter isn't an exact fit (even Samsung's filters rattle), it will rattle. Second, if either of the ice makers gets stuck or jammed, it can make a vibrating noise. If our freezer drawer isn't making a good seal, ice will build up under the drawer or in the slides. Ours makes more of a humming noise, when this happens. Other areas to check: something stuck in the runner of your drawers or shelves (if yours pull out). There are also vents that draw air in and out of the cooling unit, and things in front of them may vibrate or rattle, too.

My Quadra fire 1000 Pellet stove is not igniting correctly, the fire box fills with lots of smoke, the when it finally does the flame is erratic, extremely high and is giving off alot of black, and does...

Hi lovinthepine:
1st. clean the unit, inside and out! Clean fire bowl/pot, it'll have small'ish holes for air and a larger one for the igniter. Clean out all holes in fire pot! Make sure fiberglass gasket material between firepot and firebox floor is in tacked and not leaking. make sure ash pan door is closed tight. Clean finned heat-ex's, this requires pulling out the two heat exchanger cover plates inside the firebox., next pull the right side panel and remove neg pressure blower & clean. These can get cloged up with ash and half burnt pellets. Tall flames & black smoke mean the unit is out of adjustment. Try closing up the pellet feed plate some, it's located in the pellet hopper area. Adjust opening smaller and wait 15 min, takes that long for change. If that doesn't get it, try opening the positive pressure blower's restrictor plate some. Remove left cover panel & find semi funneled blower cover plate, loosen screw and slide plate sideways +/- 0.25". If that doesn't do it, make sure all blowers are coming on, check for exhaust blockage in stove output/Flue sys. I hope that help ya, good luck!
