It's best to assume there is a short circuit in the power amp board. The unit is going in to protect mode to stop it blowing fuses etc. Could be caused by bad speaker wiring or connections by the way.

Testimonial: "Thanks I'll check all the connections going to it I hadn't thought about that"

On 2001 Crown Vic, radio lights are on, channels change, etc but no audio. Fuse issue or any other possibilities?

sounds like your speakers aren't connected properly. check your speaker leads coming from your radio and make sure they are positive to positive and negative to negative. if you're using an external amplifier, check your RCA cables and your speaker outputs on the amp. make sure thr remote turn on lead is connected, otherwise the amp won't even power on.
hope that helped, good luck

I have a crown Itech 4000 and when I plug it in it the green light around the front power button does not light up and when I turn on the power button on the front only the blue "power" light...

Nice amp. There is a breaker/switch on the back that trips to protect the amp. Turn it off, then back on and see if the green indicator comes back. If the breaker trips again, that's probably an indication of a more serious internal problem.

The power led light just blink they don't stay on

The amp is in "protect" mode. This means that a problem was detected internally and the output section is shutdown to prevent further damage. There are many possible causes of this. Crown amps are not the easiest to diagnose as many use mulitple voltage levels for different amplification stages. I would suggest that you obtain a repair estimate from an authorized Crown service center before proceeding.

Please keep us posted on your progres.

The fault light immediately comes on my Crown XLS 602 power amp immediately upon turning it on. It will not go out?

Hi try disconnecting the speaker outs and turn off bridge (if its on) If it doesnt work still, then suggest direct to a crown agent. The amp has a 3 year no fault warranty. Hopefully its still in!

All the best

I have a Crown Power Base 1 AMP, with a buzz. It

Buzz through speakers usually means it is picking up humm from a power source. Check your mixer and amp input (gain) levels. If one is turned up really high you will get buzz. If that doesn't work check where it is plugged in. Is it sharing power with another electronic piece of equipment? You can also buy a power conditioner (I believe it is called). It will put out "clean" power (power without Hz humm). They can be expensive though. Less exspensive mixers will put out humm. Lower that gain as low as possible and raise the amp gain. Or vice verse

JBL SR4732 amps????

I have a pair of these. Best audio thing I ever did. One amp as the the crossover is built into the amp. If you can find the compatible dual 18s then you'd need a second amp. Recently read a spec that they drop to 20 hz at 10 volts. So when you turn up the volume they rock with the bass truly showing a peak of their capability. These are just amazing. I originally used a crown xri4000. Just bought a Nad T 877 HT and when run only in stereo with QObuz, pretty incredible. Not the final purpose of this amp though. I may use the line outs to integrate the Crown Amps. Still getting an idea. So One powerful amp. You won't blow these out.
