Any one of the above can cause this gas smell, for goddess sake turn off the gas valve the oven you can blow your residence to pieces with a gas leak.

after pricing the 2 ignitors and a dual saftey valve (could be all) the best price for all is around $225.or more. Doing the labor myself. Im going to just buy another stove. And I think Ill get one with a pilot light(cheaper to fix) and no self cleaning(dont use much anyway if you are carefull with spills. Price? about $270-370. free del.. and haul off. ibojuan40

That is correct. You will have to check if the valve needs replacement or if there is power being sent to the solenoid for the valve. There must be just a connection problem.

our ignitor glowed but still was not working right. it has to get to a certain temp before the gas valve will open. try changing it out. fairly inexpensive.
