SOURCE: GPX ML648B mp3 player main menu problem

To get back to the main menu just hold the mode button on the side
for a couple seconds or so. You'll get back to the main menu where
you can use the up or down volume buttons to get to settings and folders.
To see all your folders select the top (root) folder and wait a few seconds.
You'll be able to figure it out from there.

GPX MW3836 1GB MP3 Player Need driver for Windows7 Where?

The driver for this should be part of the Windows 7 OS. Just plug the USB cable into the computer with the MP3 player in USB mode. This is confirmed in the Windows 7 Compatibility Center.

The only driver on the GPX website: http://www.gpx.com/store/p/186-MW3836.aspx is for Win98. See the Downloads section.

I suspect if the unit is not registering with the computer, you may have a port issue or cable issue. Try a different USB cable; it looks like a 4 pin mini-B to A USB cable. Make sure that the ports work on the computer and that they aren't disabled for security or power saviings. (The first is under Device Manager (Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager); the second is part of the advanced settings for the screen saver (right click on the Display where there are no running programs or icons and choose Personalize > Screen Saver > Change Power Settings > Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Settings) Try a direct connection if using a USB hub.

I hope this helps.

Button soff instrutions

The button on the top is the power button, the switch next to it is the HOLD button. If this is to the left it will lock all the buttons and you won't be able to tell the player to follow your commands. The button located on the side is the MODE button and it allows you to get back to the main menu and change the Play mode (random, intro, normal). On the front of the player under the screen is a rounded square inside a larger rounded square shape. The middle button is play/pause. Around the edge closest to the screen is the volume up button, opposite of it is volume down. The other two are forward and backward.

I have a gpx-mw3837red 1gb that won't play!

Under windows explorer, click on the icon for the mp3 player (for windows 7) or my computer (for windows vista or 2000). On the mp3 player, switch between the Usb and Mtp mode (The M button). You should see songs from both modes.
