Samsung SP50L6HD Tv turns it's self off. Time

Samsung SP50L6HD Tv turns it's self off. Time frame getting shorter between turning tv on and it turning off. Has been doing it for quite a long time. TV is about 3 years old. If you leave it off for a while you can turn it on again, but the time it takes to shut down again is getting shorter.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?I have had my samsung DLP (model SP50L6HD) for 4 years. This morning my children were watching TV and the tv started turning itself on and off. I switched it...

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

Samsung sp50l6hd projecton

If a “Check Fan” message appears on the screen:

Take a look at the fans while the unit is on. If a fan is not operating, check the connector to that fan. If the connection is good, replace the fan. If the fan is still not operating you have a problem with one of PCBs.

It's possible you may have bad solder connections on the chassis boards.
