Insignia ns-55l260a13 does not power on. Power led blinks 5 shorts, pause, 2 shorts and stays on. Screen blinks and nothing else happens afterwards.

I have an insignia ns-55l260a13. originally the screen was shutting off but after power cycle it did come back. we thought its due to chromecast power drain via USB connection. Now we moved chromecast to be powered from external usb charger and that did work fine for some time. in a few month the TV stopped turning on at all. The led light brings solid, then 5 short, pause, 2 short and stays on. Screen blinks and nothing happens afterwards. Is it a power board?

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

I have a 55 Insignia tv it turned it self off and want come back on.i check the power and it want work either.

Won't not want.
Hi James,
If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following
symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can
examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life
of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
If your TV, flatscreen, or monitor is more than 5 years old it is more like to have suffered a
component failure.
Take it to a repair shop.
