I am trying to wire a Ranger S R -198 mike 4 pin to a Ranger 3500 4 pin Radio

It should be the same as a D104. Hope this helps.

2)red
shell) black and shield.
If radio keys up as soon as you plug the mic in switch the red and black wires. Good luck

if they are both 4 pins you shouldn't have to rewire it .

Trying to wire ranger sra198 mic to galaxy 4 pin radio.


That microphone comes wired stock for Uniden/Cobra.
That is:
1- Shield
2- Audio
3- Transmit
4- Receive

You need to change it to
1- Shield & Black
2- White
3- Red
4- Blue

How to wire a mic


This might help as I don't have a color code for the mic. Radio pin code; 1 - Audio -2 - Shield - 3 - Receive - 4 - Sw. Wire -
5 - Transmit

4 wire mics can't be wired to 5 pin unidens without extremely modifying the mic and replacing the mic cord

Sound is lost and regain when mic button is pressed


i would assume you have wired it incorrectly or have tried another 4 pin mic such as an midland which are wire differently for the galaxy, ranger, connex, cobra an undien 4 pin mics. Galaxy Radios DX959 MOSFET Final Service Manual
