SOURCE: itunes and ipod are not cooperating with me.

I bought an Ipod shuffle 2nd generation yesterday, it charged all night and orange light was still blinking. Tried listening to songs and sometimes it would play but most times wouldn't. Took it back for exchange and same problem. Then I realized the problem is not with the USB plug or computer reoconizing ipod but in the docking itself. I applied pressure on the top side of docked Ipod and bottom of docking station and the computer recognized the Ipod. Release pressure and lose connection. The problem is that the docking station and earbuds do not connect with ipod and the fixes provided by apple doesn't address or fix this problem.

SOURCE: Downloading music into my ipod

For all you folks having problems downloading music onto your new iPod here's a simple solution, albeit, one that will cost you a little money, but will make you an expert.
Go to Lynda.com, a software training site. On their homepage under the heading you'll see the title LEARN BY: with several bars. Click on the arrow in the vender bar, then click on APPLE. On the next page scroll down to (iTunes) and click on iTunes 5 and 6 + iPod Essential Training. There you can watch a sample introduction of their iTunes training exercise. For a $25 dollar subscription you can get the complete training exercise for one month. They also have options for annual subscriptions as well at a steeper price tag. Or for $49.95 you can purchase the CD ROM training course.
But try the free sample course first to see if you like it. It's a great site for learning any type of software out there in a easy to understand format that allows you to take your time.
I am not affiliated with Lynda.com, but have used their site several times to learn software programs at my own pace without having to attend some school to do so, and I haven't been disappointed in their training yet.

I got this ipod nano 4th generation from a friend and his accounts still on it and i cant connect it to my itunes account because of it how do i get his account off?

1. plug in the ipod and itunes will pop up and say that the ipod is registered to a different user.
2. the only option that you can and need to click it the restore ipod to factory settings.
3. do this(might take awhile to restore) and then it will be back to how it was when it was first purchased.
4. you can now register it to your name and use it as yours!

What generation this iPod is serial number 1A009QC075J

iPods come in a variety of generations and models, including the nano, Classic and Touch. Depending on your model you may be able to record video, play games or watch television.
If you're unsure of your device's model, you can determine which iPod you have by using your serial number.
After determining your model, you can find out which features and capabilities your iPod has.

Go to Apple's official website (see Link Below) and click the Support tab.
http://www.apple.com/
Click the Online Service Assistant link, which is located in the Support Services menu on the right side of the screen.
The Service and Repair page will open.
Find your iPod's serial number.
This is engraved somewhere on the back of your iPod, either on the body of the device or on the clip.
You can also find it in your iPod's About screen by clicking Settings and selecting About (or General followed by About on an iPod Touch).
Enter your iPod's serial number and click the "Continue" button.
Your iPod model and generation will be displayed at the top of the screen.

It says can not sync ipod(-53) What does this mean..how to fix

Hi, message saying "can not sync" means that the connection from the ipod to the computer was not successful..
If you sync your iPod with a different/empty library iTunes will only give you the option to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from the iPod to the computer and everything else on it will be erased. You'll find details on transferring purchases in this article: iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer

Purchased applications can be downloaded over again, see this article for details: How to redownload purchased applications from the App Store

If you want to recover the music from CDs etc that is on the iPod and transfer it to your new computer there are a few things you can do. music from CDs etc.) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod Touch or iPhone. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer data (such as playcounts and ratings), movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well.

A selection of iPod/iPhone to iTunes utilities:
Senuti Mac Only (iPod Touch & iPhone compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPodRip Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

One last thing, you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. Open iTunes first and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box "Prevent iPods and iPhones from syncing automatically" and choose Ok before connecting your device.

Once you have recovered everything from the iPod and your iTunes library has been rebuilt it will be safe to sync again.

I cant put music on my ipod touch with windows media player

You cannot use the iPod touch with Windows Media Player, you can only use the iPod touch with iTunes. You need to download iTunes and when you install iTunes make sure it is set to automatically search your computer for music. iTunes will find all of your Windows Media Player songs, convert them for use on the iPod and then you can synchronize your iPod with the iTunes software.

How can i download music to my ipod touch without

Unfortunately Apple products are very proprietary, and Apple works very hard to keep people from using other software. I've seen several programs that you can purchase from places like Best Buy that replace the iTunes music software, but using that software will leave you unable to sync any applications or software updates. Good luck!

Ipod touch connector

Hello serafineb,

The Alpine Full Speed cable for the iPod supports the following versions:

Fourth generation iPod
Fifth generation iPod
iPod photo
iPod mini
iPod nano

According to their website it does not appear that Alpine currently has a cable for the iPod touch. They do, however, make a "generic" cable for most MP3 players that connects directly to the earphone jack. Although this would not allow you to control the iPod from your stereo's head unit, you should be able to connect the iPod touch via this cable to play music through your car stereo.

More information about the "generic" cable can be found here.

Best Regards,
Ken
