Lawn tractor jerks when driving across lawn

Installed a new lower drive belt on an mtd yard machine lawn tractor and now when driving across lawn the tractor jerks every few yards like the belt is slipping and recatching. I ordered the belt part no 954 - 0467 and it appears to be the correct one and it appears I have installed it correctly from all the diagrams I can find. Do you have to install an upper drive belt too even though it does not appear worn? Any suggestions? mtd yard machine model # 13bk608g12484526 17 **** power 42inch deck

    these units have a stack pully,that need lubed. thake the battery out and the cradle that holds the battery and you can see the stack pully' just oil the sleeve and you will be ok.GOOD LUCK.....

Belt is worn out and needs replacing or maybe the jockey tensioner is not operating on the belt hard enough to prevent slippage. If its all in good condition get a good DIYer or mechanic to have a look. If not its down to your local garden machinery shop.

What is the correct belt size for yard machine lawn tractor 18 hp. with a 42" deck model # 136aq670g62?
Take your make and model number (located under seat) to your local lawn mower repair parts shop and they should be able to get you the appropriate belt.

Hi there. It sounds to me like you have a worn drive belt. Go to http://www.mtdproducts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/OwnersCenterView?storeId=10500&catalogId=20500&langId=-1 enter your model numbers in the center field and download your manual. It will show how to remove and re-fit a new belt. Take the old belt with you when purchasing the new one. Hope this helps
