The settings should still be installed on your comp acces controll panel and select printer and faxes this should give you a list of printers yours should be in this list if not have you still got disk if you havent the you could access controll paned and select hardware devices and make sure printer is plugged in then let your comp search for new devices when its finished select the printer from the list if you dont have disk it will ask if you have it select no then the comp will serarch for the setting for you but it should still be installed on your comp anyway. have you tried just plugging it in and trying it to see if it works cus your comp might just set itself up any way i hope this is some help to you

Dell v715w telling me printer is not installed yet it will print, just not scan

Hi

You don't say which operating system you use, how long you have had the printer or whether the scanner has ever worked previously.

There may be some corruption in the software.

Start > Control panel > Add or Remove (Programs) > (uninstall a program) > Highlight Dell Programs > Remove all components > OK > restart computer > use printer CD to carefully reinstall all the drivers and applications for both printerand scanner, without missing any tick/untick option boxes.

Wireless printers are first installed with either a USB cable connection to the computer or a LAN cable to a Wireless Router or Wireless Router/Modem. Once the installation is complete, the cable can be disconnected.

If you have no CD, download and install drivers, applications and any available firmware, updates or securirty patches from:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PRN_ALL_V313W&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=

Put this site in your favourites and check regularly for new firmware, updates and security patches to download and install.

Remeber to connect all computer equipment to the mains power via a Surge Suppressor/Surge Protector.

I hope this helps.

Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://support.dell.com
Enter '1700n' and download the device-driver for your printer and your Operating System.
Unplug your printer's USB cable.
Then, when you install the device-driver software, connect the printer when you are told to connect it.

Paper jam

There is a sensor in the back that lets the printer know the paper has exited the fuser. It is probably broken off if paper is getting stuck back there.

Also check for paper remnants that are jammed. This may require removal of the fuser.
