On a series 10, it's located behind the bulk head, behind the drum. On a series 11 they moved it to a bracket on the heater cone. Catriver.

SOURCE: Maytag pye/g2300. dryer will not start.

A thermal fuse will not conduct electricity if it is bad. Take it off and check it with a continuity meter.

The air flow past the thermal fuse is too hot. The air flow cools the heater coil area. Check the air passages from the lint filter to the heator coil housing for lint balls blocking the flow and letting the area around the fuse get too hot.

Start light on but wont start

Hi there,

Well most gas dryers have one thermal fuse and some have two thermal fuses wired in series with the motor. If any of the thermal fuses are blown that could be one of the reasons of your dryer not starting. So first of all you may check out the fuse.

When the dryer wont heat it is the thermal fuse that is bad, you can test it with a voltmeter before replacing. This fuse is located inside the rear panel and it cannot be reset.

Hi,
When the dryer won't heat it is the thermostat/thermal fuse that is bad, you can test it with a voltmeter before replacing. This fuse is located inside the rear panel and it cannot be reset.

check ur breaker first, dryers will run on 120volts but wont heat unless have 240.

if electric check ur heating element, thermostats, and thermal fuse for continuity with a meter.

Sounds as if you have a blown thermal fuse, part # 33001762. If your controls are lighting then replace this thermal.

Compare the wiring connections on both motors. They may be marked. They may be different. Careful examination will determine the start and run wires. Other wires turn on the heat once the motor reaches running speed. The thermal fuse for the motor is internal and unservicable. The hi limit sensor will control the heat, but will not necessarily turn off the motor.
