Check the brushes on the back of the motor. It sounds like they are worn.

SOURCE: Can't remove bits

I had this problem on my De Walt DW912- I simply couldnt turn the keyless chuck to remove the screwdriver bit and there was no obvious reason why.
I placed the unit on a solid surface so that the chuck/ drill bit was pointing vertical. I then used a mallet and a metal chisel to gently tap each of the 3 chuck jaws back into the chuck body. It worked!
Turned out that there was the absolute tiny amout of corrosion between the jaws, and the chuck and my tapping had just broken the siezure. I now remember that it started to rain slightly last time I used it.
Some spray release agent or perhaps WD40 would probably have done the same job but I wouldnt have believed so little corrosion could have done this so didnt realise this was the problem.

DHR242 18V SDS drill stopped rotating, not the battery as tried another.

I would pull the armature out of the drill and check the copper pick ups and the motor brushes. If you have a bench drill press, put the shaft drive end of the armature in the chuck and with some fine wet and dry paper and something to hold it flat, reface the copper contacts until they look like they're shiny and smooth (you will need to debride the debris trapped between the contacts as they cause dead shorts). Do you best not to damage the contacts. Don't attempt to reface the brushes - they are so brittle they will break but make sure the tensioners that hold them in their housings aren't broken or jammed. Second is pulling down the gearbox and making sure the gears and shafts are intact. Clean them out and repack them with fresh grease (lanolin or white lithium) I've done a couple of motor patch ups like this and they aren't hard to do once you've taken one apart yourself.

Cordless sds leaving grease on sds bits

There is supposed to be grease on the chuck end of SDS+ and SDS Max bits. Actually, you should put a little lightweight grease on the end of the bit every time you put one in your drill. If you, or noone who has ever used the drill, have ever done this, it is possible internal grease is leaking out of the drill and it should not. There are seals to prevent internal grease from getting out of the transmission and striker mechanisms. If you are loosing internal grease, these seals should be checked.

Do you have a safety manual i can access online for your 18v battery operated hammer drills

You can find the instruction manual for most Dewalt tools at http://servicenet.dewalt.com/ . Enter your model in the Find Parts search box and then press Search The basic safety instructions are on the first page of the manual. For the DCD950, Dewalt lists 6 models: http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Parts/Search?searchedNumber=Dcd950&searchType=1 . There are three models listed for the Dc925: http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Parts/Search?searchedNumber=Dc925&searchType=1 . Pick your model and click on the link. You will find the PDF link to the Instruction manual on the right hand side of the page under Downloads.

I hope this helps.

How do I fit drill in this machine please? DEWALT D25113K D25113 3 MODE SDS

Youcan only use standard drill bits with the use of a chuck attachment with the SDS type bayonet. These hammer drills use an SDS type drill bit which just pushes into the fitted chuck and are released by pulling back on the lock mechanism on the chuck.

Strange wurring sound and slight vibration at full speed Dewalt sds hammer drill dw25003.

On most sds drills the movement of the beat piece inside the piston cause then to vibrate, even at slow speed, this is normal, the most speed the louder the noise and vibration., note: is not a grinding noise, it should be a smooth nocking constant sound, as so the vibration.

Dewalt cordless drill

You have burned out the drill motor, it is shorted, the battery smoked due to a direct short, one thing I don't understand why the thermal limiter didn't trip in battery pack, I would contact manufacturer and try to get hem to buy you a new drill.
