We had a power outage at our office last night and now only one phone in the office rings. Also, phones that won't ring will not automatically answer the line of the incoming call.
I have the same problem with the phones in our office. The display phone at my desk is the only phone in the office that rings. We need each phone to ring because our office has people working upstairs and they cannot hear the phone downstairs when it rings. This has been a problem for several months and I have tried reading the user's manual in order to fix the problem but have not come up with a solution.I have the same problem with the phones in our office. Your memory battery on your telephone system is bad. when power is lost , so is the programming. to fix this , you must go into system programming. From any phone, without picking up the handset. Press #20 Dial 12341, Press #. Press # again and dial 62, Press Line 1 and then press the button of each stn you want to ring ,( The display will show 1 if you press stn 1 and so on.) program each line the same way.

If you have more than one phone, phones 2-n need to be assigned different codes from the first ... Since the default phone code is '11', assign them with '12', '13', etc. via 1012, 1013, etc.
Your system lost its programming. It will need to be reprogrammed completely. The lines are ringing on the extensions where I voicemail is, unplug voicemail and at least lines will ring in correctly.
Press feature key then dial #* password 000000 next, go to sets, hit show, hit next till ringing assingment is display hit show and change from n to y on line ringing assingment. do this for each set and line that need to ring.
To change the ringing on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is). with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED 1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming) 2) enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn 3) press the line you wish to program 4) press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset) 5) press # when finished with the line 6) repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remainder of the lines you wish to change The code for hold recall is #52 enter in your hold recall time in sec. and in a 3 digit format. i.e. 30 seconds = 030 a minute and a half is 090 and so on. press # when finished
it sounds like the memory battery on the main board is no longer working which means that it'll happen again.
The battery is dead and will not maintain system programing after a power outage. If the battery is not replaced this problem will occur everytime the power goes out.
