SOURCE: honda pressure washer cuts out when lance trigger released.

You most likely need to set your valve clearances. If it is hard to pull over or the recoil snaps back after starting your valves need to be set for sure. This may not be the entire problem but it is a good start. Also change the spark plug, a bad plug will cause odd problems and is too cheap not to eliminate as a source. In addition check your fuel, pour a little out into a white container (I like spray paint can caps for this) and look at the color. If it is yellow to orange it is bad. You can pour it into you car, the car electronic sensors will compinsate for it quality but a small engine can't. Use a NGK BP6ES or BPR6ES plug.
You need:
Feeler gages
10mm open end wrench
14mm open end wrench
1 long shaft screw driver or rod
1 spark plug socket and ratchet

Remove the spark plug and the valve cover. Pull the recoil over slowly until the intake valve opens (intake is closes to the carb and it will go down when it opens). Now put your long screwdrive down the spark plug hole. Slow pull the engine over until the screwdriver handle is at it highest point, this is top dead center. It may take a few attempts. Now check your valve clearance between the rockers and the top of the valve. The intake should be .006 and the exhaust .008, both can be +/- .001. To adjust: hold the large nut with the 14mm then loosen the small one with the 10mm. Lefty loosey. Now turn your large nut until you get the correct setting and then tighten the small one the lock it in. It may take a few attempts and alway reverify your setting after you lock it down. Once done, find top dead center again and reverify. Now your valves are set.

SOURCE: karcher k2400hh pressure washer, water pressure cuts out.

Hello cikanek:

Try this:

From your posting, I assume you have removed the splash cap and the nylon bypass valve cover. Connect the water supply to the pump and connect the high pressure hose and wand to the pump outlet. Wad up a small towel and place it over the bypass valve opening to catch the valve insert when it pops out. With the engine throttle closed, pull the starter cord several times to see it the valve insert will pop out. If it doesn't come out after two or three pulls, set the throttle to low and start the engine. I have performed this procedure a number of times and the valve insert always pops out. There is no real danger of the valve parts getting seriously airborn since the actual pump output volume is very low (2.5 Gal/min).

Good luck,
Ed

SOURCE: engine keeps shutting down

Most Honda engines have an oil pressure switch that prevents engine damage due to low/no oil pressure. Make sure there is sufficient oil in the engine and that the wire is connected to the pressure switch.

SOURCE: Honda Pressure Washer HP 5 not starting

You can try spraying some carburetor cleaner into the carb. If it starts for a minute, your carburetor need cleaning. When you added new gas did you remove the old gas first? Is the air filter clean?

SOURCE: Honda gas power pressure washer runs for awhile then cuts off.

did you pour all of the old gas out before you started to use it. Sometimes condensation builds up in gas tank when stored. You need to dump old gas an put in new gas.

It starts easy and runs for about 10 minutes and cuts off. Have to wait 30-45 min. to restart with the same cutting off problem. Have always had a problem with restarting even when I shut it down on m

If your oil is too low or even a little bit low or if your machine is sitting on an incline, it will start and run until the oil is dispersed within the motor. Spreading the little amount of oil that is in there all around the inside of the motor would then reduce the amount of oil that is "sensed" by the "low-oil safety shutoff" switch, which would then shut down the engine. Its possible that your "low-oil sensor switch" is bad. You can test it by unplugging it. Just look for a wire that runs from your ignition switch or ignition coil to a sensor mounted on the engine block somewhere. Usually, it just unplugs right at the sensor. Simply unplug it and crank the engine and if it keeps running, then you know you have a bad switch (if you've topped off the oil, of course!).

Powerwasher honda 13.0 running fine until gets hot after 30 min. cuts out every 5 mins after that.

If this has the thick silver gas cap, I have had similar problems on a number of these engines because it is a vented fuel cap and it will slow or even stop the fuel flow if they stop venting Try loosening or better yet replacing it. If that doesnt solve it then you may want to drain the fuel and put in fresh fuel Pressure washers will get water in the tank. Also make sure you drain the carb bowl. There is a bolt on the side of the carb bowl for that purpose.

Compressor cuts off

Check your governor spring it may just be time for replacing, and the fact it cuts out when regaining pressure may also mean you have a wiring issue, perhaps something is losing contact while the unit shakes. I'd also take the time to blow out your carb and change your filters, note you have to readjust your carb if you put a new air filter on it.

Hello. Your carburator is gummed up. Get a can of seafoam fuel additive at the auto parts store and put the recommended amount into the gas. This will clear up the problem in just a few minutes. Joe
