You can find the MediaConnect code from within the TV's menu screen. Press [Menu] on the remote. Then select [Setup]>[Software]>[MediaConnect code]. The code will be displayed on the right side of the screen.

I have had this happen on universal air conditioner remotes as well. Try looking on the website for Thorn remotes and universal remotes that will work on a Thorn. Thorn used to be AWA. You could try that as well.
