Hi there,my (quite old) miele novotronic dryer all of a sudden trips out all the electrics when switched on, any ideas?please help!!

Sorry to read about your problem. Their is a 80% chance you have a defective heat coil or coils. or the heat selector switch is defective. in addition you may have a clogged dryer vent.

I suggest you place a call to a service company.

Hi,

Visually verify household fuse blown or a circuit breaker tripped.
The drum may be turning, but you may not have heat. Electric dryers use 2 household fuses or circuit breakers. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.
If the problem continues, call an electrician.

If start LED does not blink, most likely fault is your door lock.

have the neutral power connection on that circuit and back to the main house panel and then have the neutral connection checked at the power companies side also, it sounds like you have a high resistance neutral connection somewhere in the circuit and its looking for another return path due to the high resistance on the line to another feed circuit line to make connection

Please follow the link and goto page 30 for the electrical requirements. The manual is for the T8012 but all the dryers are the same for electrical. Goto page 30. There is usually a seperate fuse box for these (Depending on how old the dryer is) in which you may want to contact Miele to see if you have

If your circuit breaker is warm when it trips. Then you need to replace the breaker. Need to know how to use a meter also.

Most likely fault is filters have been clogged and tripped the safety stat on rear of appliance. Wash filters and replace stat Part No. 5432530

You probably have a shorted heating element.
