*** The following is for information only.***
* If your player and TV set was working prior to this then it's probably playing a black and white movie or the TV color setting is off and needs to be reset.
* For TV go to menu, Picture, Color set up. (Best to restore to factory settings as a starting point.)
* For DVD try a known "color' movie (at least something later than 1965) if it plays in color then the older disk is B&W.
* If someone pulled out the cable (Yellow, Red, and White) this is the Video (Yellow) and Audio Left-White, Audio Right-Red.
* Check this cord for damage and reconnect into corisponding color coded jacks. Note; this cord will not affect the "color of the set other than not show up at all - Blank screen if wrong plug inserted.
* Call TV support line (or DVD support) for advice.

by "My computer doesnt show that the dvd is in the computer" are you referring to the disk or the drive? If the drive is not showing in my computer try using this file: - (recommended fix) And here's a method (CdGone.zip) that will do a procedure automatically for you if you're afraid to edit the registry manually. (automatic fix, post #7, download file: CdGone.zip) Unzip the file, then launch it. http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/8-cdgone/
hi, make sure that you are playing the correct color system disk they are disk recorded in a standard NTSC disk if you are living in US or PAL SECAM from arab country.same with your DVD player check if your player supports a multisystem disk...You can also try to switch the color system from your remote control you switch from NTSC to PAL system...
You should be able to use the small diameter disk. The disk can be inserted in the CD/DVD drive just like a normal size CD/DVD disk, it locks onto the spindle on the laptop's CD/DVD drive. The laser reads from the center of the disk.
Normally a DVD blank or has data stored on it will not show unused disk capacity. If will show the disk capacite of the space it has used.
The read/write DVD disks will show the capacities used and unused after the disk has been formatted and data copied on these DVD disks.
This is because of the audio video format issue. You select the TV type to auto (Advisable) or to the appropriate selection such as PAL or NTSC in the DVD player to get the better output with the color. This selection you usually find in settings > Video setup> TV Type
It sounds like something is set to NTSC instead of PAL, check to make sure that everything is set to PAL. If you TV isn't NTSC compadible then it could be that you are trying to watch an NTSC disk.
you have dirty lens, try to cleaning with 100% cotton buds. or you have damage laser eye, or broken flex ribbon wire, but first you have to do is to cleaning the lens with cotton buds.. if not reading after you clean the lens! change the laser eye and flex ribbon wire.
I'm assuming you're using the yellow ended video cable and two audio cables hooked up to your TV to display the signal. If so, I would just make sure they are connected in the correct output jacks on your dvd player and that they match up with the input jacks on your TV. If so, then I'd try another DVD player to see if that one plays OK.
