On some tvs the hdmi port are weak maybe its starting to come away from the motherboard , I had this happen with ps4, do you have another port to try ? The only way I could sort mine without hefty repair bill was to use the hdmi port that I was using for Sky and then connect Sky through scart lead.

HOW DO I PLAY A DVD USING Hitachi Flat Panel Television 32HDL51 (ITS CONNECTED THROUGH HDMI CABLE)

Page 18 of the manual, you shouldn't need to do steps 2 or 3.

CONNECTING A COMPONENT SOURCE WITH HDMI or DVI CAPABILITY TO INPUT 1 or INPUT 2
1.Connect the HDMI or DVI to HDMI connection cable from the output of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the HDMI input as shown on the AVC Center below.
2.With DVI output, connect the cable from the AUDIO OUT R of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the INPUT (AUDIO/R) jack.
3.With DVI output, connect the cable from the AUDIO OUT L of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the INPUT (AUDIO/L) jack.
4.Press the INPUTS button, then select INPUTS 1 or 2 to view the program from the HDTV set top box or DVD player. The VIDEO OSD label disappears automatically after approximately four seconds.
5.Select ANT A or B from the INPUTS menu to return to the previous channel.
NOTES:1. Completely insert the connection cord plugs when connecting to rear panel jacks. The picture and sound that is played back will be abnormal if the connection is loose.
2. The HDMI input on INPUT 1 or 2 contains the copy protection system called High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). HDCP is a cryptographic system that encrypts video signals when using HDMI connections to prevent ******* copying of video contents.
3.HDMI is not a "NETWORK" technology. It establishes a one-way point-to-point connection for delivery of uncompressed video to a display.
4.The connected digital output device controls the HDMI interface so proper set-up of device user settings determines final video appearance.

HDMI&DVI ports already used on LG HDTV.I have X BOX 360 S,has a HDMI plug, can I use a HDMI splitter to plug in the X BOX in the DVI port ?receiving computer via HDMI now

You will not be able to split them, but they do make a HDMI Switcher, allowing you to use your Xbox 360 as number one and your PC as number 2, w you cannot mix both at the same time.

Hello
VGA and DVI are not compactable. Your TV has no provision to connect it to computer.

DVI-HDTV Input (Input 1)

Use this DVI-HDTV Input for your external devices with DVI-HDTV output such as a Set-Top-Box, high-band DTV decoders, DVD
players and D-VHS with Digital Content Protection

1. Only DTV format such as 1080i, 720p, 480i and 480p are available for DVI-HDTV input.

2. The DVI-HDTV input is NOT compatible when used with a DVD player from a personal computer.

3. When connecting a Set-Top-Box with a copy-protect digital out terminal, a high definition picture can be displayed
on the screen in its digital form
OK.

DVI/HDMI Cable lost my pic and sound

Try disconnecting the hdmI cable and the dvr box.
Connect the cable directly to the cable input.
Sometimes the dvr boxes will cause this problem

No sound

A DVI cable does not have an audio connection, along with the DVI you still have to run an audio line from the device (DVD player, cable box, satellite receiver) to the TV. HDMI contains both audio and video.
