does your unit have a button to open door or do you just pull it to open it they are sometimes really stiff at first if it is button then it will need lock replacing about 60 pound if it just pulls open then these can seem stuck but will open as there is no mechanism to open the door so it will open but might take a bit of force the first few times untill it wares in a bit so dont be afraid of using force as it will open post back if you have any trouble and i will find a manuall and see what it says in their ok hope this is some help.........................................

SOURCE: my whirlpool oven door is locked. After cleaning

HI. This will indicate that the door lock mechanism is damaged. follow the procedure below to address further.

If the door is latched:

A. Disconnect power from unit.
B. Check wires and connectors from control to door switch, then from door switch to control. If there is no damage to the wires and all connectors are okay, proceed to step C.
C. Replace door switch.
D. Re-apply power.
E. Press and hold any key down for 1 minute to clear F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.

NOTE_ This will, normally, lead to the replacement of the door latch assembly.

Cant get my elecric single oven mm55524 to turn back on tried fuse in plug thats ok plz help

You need to check the continuity of the wires from the mains plug to the main heating coil. This means that the switch and the circuit to the heating coils will confirm the short. If the heating element is short then the main line should be removed to confirm the short and so the circuit will not trip.

Power Failure Came Up on Screen and Oven is locked and will not o

Hello, verify that the oven is connected to its power source. The oven may sometimes lock down if experiencing a power surge or similar electrical problems.Additionally, check that a fuse hasn't been blown in your home's fuse box. Some older homes may not have the proper wiring to support a high power appliance such as a whirlpool oven.If not you are not sure your wiring is sufficient, consult a local electrician.
Thanks

Wont heat up

if u used self clean and now u have problems more than likely u blow out the thermosat on the backside of the unit, this is kinda common with these it gets so hot inside that these thermostats blow..... to check it remove side trim pieces usually screws...turn power of at breaker to unit first.... then remove moutning screws that hold it into cabinent..... get two people and remove wall oven,, then remove back panel to get acess to thermostat... test it with a meter for continuity if it reads somethin its good or closed circuit, if it reads nothin it is an open circuit and a bad part,,,,,,if that checks out okay then ur control board may be effective... hopefuully this helps most thermostats are usually 40-90 dollars.. let me know

I have a whirlpool gbs307 oven and after completing a self-clean cycle and wiping it clean after it cooled, it won't heat at all. Any ideas?

HI,
This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

thank you,
