SOURCE: Ref: Stihl FS46 string trimmer. Broken Flex shaft.

Remove orange sheild, remove single screw holding head in shaft then grab head with pliers and twist side to side until complete head is free. You should then be able to grab part of shaft. On power head loosen screws {about one turn each} that hold two white case halves near trigger,I think there are four, then there is a single torx screw on the bottom of lower case half in the middle that must be taken out to allow tube to be removed.Romove flexshaft from top.Check 4 plastic burnt to flexshaft,if there is you must replace tube liner as well, usally around bent part of tube the liner will go bad.

SOURCE: Replacing trimmer line with blade for stihl fs 90r trimmer

If you bought the trimmer new there should be a rod about 6" long and 1/8" thick. Above the trimmer head below the trimmer gearbox there is a hole. You have to put the rod in that hole and turn the head until that locks it from turning.

From there you can screw the trimmer head off by hand, or a strap wrench if it's really tight. It may be left hand threads.

SOURCE: need to replace trimmer to

Here is the closest I could come to your model number. Their site has only current models. See pages 29 and 30. It has left-handed threads it says, so to remove trimmer, turn it CLOCKWISE. Older Poulan models have a left handed shaft also. Older Echos had left handed crankshaft threads. Here is a HUGE manual.

The starter cord jammed on recoiling, after attempting got release it the recoil spring rewound, now the cord and spring are interlocked. I'm looking to strip the recoil mechanism but I believe I

Its an easy opperation to undertake if you know how. Take note of where everything goes during the stripping down of the recoil assembly. Use eye protection when trying to recoil the rewind spring, they have a tendency to jump back out at you while coiling them back in. easiest way is to start by putting the hooked end into the plastic housing and work your way inwards coiling it back in. Then place the starter cord roller in on top, adding the one or two black sliders, the washer and the spring clip to hold it all in place.

I have a walbro carberator that squits gas out of a little hole on the side near the top of the carb why?at the top why?

Probably the needle valve is sticking, letting the float bowl over flow. Remove the float bowl, and blow very low air pressure (less than 5 psi) through the fuel line. lift the float and see if the air blows past the needle and seat. If it does check the needle and seat. Sometimes a deteriorated fuel line will cause little bits of rubber to keep the needle valvefrom closing. If raising the float does shut off the air flow remove the float and check it.Brass floats on old carburetors can develop pin holes allowing fuel to enter the float causing it to drop. This keeps the float valve open. Some non metalic floats can become fuel soaking causing the same problem.
