LCD TV picture is green

My TV screen is green when I trun it on. The sound works fine, but the screen just stays green. The picture sometimes comes on, but images are still left green. I unplugged all cables and plugged them back in, but that didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions. the TV is only about a year and half old. Thanks!

    having the same issue, it happened once before to me, I unplugged the TV and pugged it back in like 10 minutes later, and it worked, didn't have the issue until just now.

    I also tried switching to my Xbox (different HDMI port) and that worked fine.... so if you guys are only using 1 HDMI port, try switching to the other one

    I have the Vizio 47 LCD and the screen kept going green. I took it back and got another one and two days later the same thing happens. I might last 2 hours or fifteen minutes and the screen will go back to green again. I have changed hdmi cables and that didn't help. I have a hard time believing I got 2 bad tv's unless there just junk. I like it when it works and I will try a different hdmi port and see what happens. Any other suggestions?

I just called Vizio and they said to unplug the TV, then physically hold in the power button on the TV for 2 minutes.

Found solution (although a pain) by trial and error. At first I turned off and unplugged the tv, disconnected the hdmi cable, put it all back together and plugged the tv back in and same green screen. Then I unplugged the tv and the cable box/dvr, waited 5 seconds, turned them both back on and NO green screen. I get the green screen about every 5 days, I have the cable box and the tv now plugged into a surge protector strip with an on/off button, so now when I get the green screen I simply push the button on the power strip to turn everything off at once, wait 3 seconds, flip the switch back on and NO green screen. If anyone has a permenant fix I'd sure like to hear it.

    This solution worked for me. Plug the cable box and tv into a surge protector, turn everything off at once and flip the surge protector switch back on. Thanks for this hint.

I unplugged my TV for 15 minutes and that fixed mine a few months ago, the problem returned today, I noticed that it was only happening on the HDMI 1 port, when using my Xbox (on HDMI 2) the problem didn't happen

if you only have 1 HDMI source, try switching to the other port

I had a similar problem with too much green and blue on my screen and no red. It was on all channels all the time. I called the cable company and determined that my cable box went bad so I am going to get a new cable box. (I have HDTV DVR cable box). To figure out if that is the problem unplug the cable box from the TV and plug the TV directly into the cable in the wall. If your picture is fine then you know it is the cable box.

Some people have found if you leave the TV on for 15 minutes the green screen goes away and the TV returns to normal. If it is a Vizio, the tech support folks suggest this:
Try to reset all setting and then to see if the problem is solved. 1. Press the Menu on your Remote Control;
2. choose Set up on the OSD;
3. then choose Reset All settings;
4. Press the Exit on your Remote Control to remove the OSD.

    I do not see set up of the on the OSD. So what should I do instead?

Hi. i believe this to be either of these three problems.
1. Power: it could be that there is a problem with the power electronic element(s). the solution is to go see an engineer.
2. Screen: if the television uses LCD display, it could be a problem with the liquid in it. Solution is to see an engineer.
3. Sleep mode: the TV could be in sleep mode which makes the screen go blank until removed from sleep mode. Solution is to read the TV's users manual to see how to wake a sleeping TV. Get back.

Screen goes blank / black, sound still works

It sounds like your LCD Screen is no longer working. I would try contacting Sony and ask for a refund. I had the same T.V and the LCD Screen had gone out. A techniction came out and Condemned the screen and i had to pay $500 for a new T.V.
